The thing about having a boring life is, you don't really have much to say about it. Seriously. Every time someone asks me "what's new?" in real life, my answer is almost always "not much". I could tell them about the lovely things I thrifted recently, or the new houseplants I just bought, or the bread or cake or cookies I baked last Friday, or what an amazing country Iceland is, but the people that I know in real life (except for the husband, who is my biggest and only fan) aren't interested in any of those. Trust me, I tried telling them all those things. All I got in return was a blank stare.

I'm really behind in my blogging this month. The thing is, when I'm anxious about something, I just don't feel like writing. I read that writing it down might help with reducing the anxiety. Unfortunately, my brain doesn't work that way. Writing takes too much of me in times of anxiety. Or anxiety takes too much of me that I don't have the energy to write. I think the latter is more likely.
Read more →This year's Weird Web October came to an end yesterday. Part of me is relieved because trying to come up with something in the form of a website every day was kind of exhausting. Sometimes I couldn't come up with anything until near bedtime. Another part of me is kind of missing it already because I did enjoy the challenge of putting an idea into something people can see or read or interact with. It was fun. I would definitely do it again next year.

It's Halloween, the last day of October. I feel like I should post something, just so that I could say I posted one entry more this month than I did last month. An improvement! I don't track my visitors/readers so I don't even know if anyone is reading this blog, but I'm documenting my boring life mostly for myself. So there.
Read more →I spent this morning digging out some of my earliest memories. It was for a feature I wanted to make for today's Weird Web October where the theme was "Memory". Might not sound too weird of a feature, but they're memories from the 70's, and they took place in Jakarta, Indonesia, where I was born. Things were... different back then, let's just put it that way.
