What is Booktower?
Booktower is a free whimsical reading tracker app that encourages reading of all kinds, celebrating your favorite works, and sharing them with others who are looking for their new favorites. It's a love-novel to people who love reading; those of us who love reading so much that we've always dreamt of having a whimsical tower filled floor to ceiling with our favorite works.
Using Booktower, you can fill a fully customizable virtual tower with your favorite books, fanfictions, web comics, manga, web novels, and more! Whatever you're reading (or hoping to read), there's a place for it in your tower. Once you've added a readable to your library, you can track your TBR, reads, re-reads, did-not-finish, and anything else.

I love seeing statistics
I love seeing statistics but I’m very much too lazy to make a document with stats myself, so this is a good alternative! … I also have memory issues so being able to have a log of fics I’ve read or dnf is SOO useful!!
I recommend it
Love that I can track all the things I’ve read in one place, specifically fanfiction! It’s all so nice and tidy, taking the hard work out of keeping a spreadsheet up to date and clean. I recommend it to anyone who will listen!!
Never had fewer Chrome tabs
I have never had fewer Chrome tabs open in my life thanks to Booktower!!! … I love having a spot to put all my fics, the little stickers to find the tropes I want to read, color‑coding by rating, and cute themed backgrounds and color schemes!!!
Love … to visually see
Lists and spreadsheets are just blocks of text, but with Booktower I can see the actual covers of books and comics I’ve read; plus you can color‑code covers for fanfics as well! I love being able to visually see and organize everything I read!
I love the look
I used to have a huge Excel spreadsheet… it always bothered me how it looked. Now I finally have a page where I can keep track of everything with a few clicks. I love the look of the tower plus finally I have a library to store my digital readables—not just the physical one at home. Plus I have nice looking statistics <3
About the Team
How It Started
Booktower was created by Dara (Pogo) & John, a married couple from New York!
Dara became extremely invested in fanfictions and created a spreadsheet to track the many fics she was reading along with information about those fics so that she could see her stats increase over time. John, after seeing the massive spreadsheet, offered to create a chrome extension to automatically capture that information and the "first version" of Booktower was born!
After using the chrome extension for a while Dara talked about it with her friends, and they were excited about it too! Hearing this, John (inspired by their favorite fairytales like Beauty & The Beast) suggested creating a virtual book tower that people could fill with all of their favorite readables.
A few months later, in April 2024, they invited the first beta users and started on this wonderful adventure!
