This morning was a cavalcade of minor irritations - all the bottles in my fridge decided to tip over when I removed the container of milk, I forgot my Metro card and had to use change to get on the bus (and had to buy a pack of gum in order to have enough change), and then I had to add some time to my backup Metro card, etc. On the plus side, it's warm out, and I ended up getting on an express that was running local for a few stops before becoming an express again, and I eventually got a seat, so that worked out all right.
We'd take a limousine 'cause it costs more (@ AO3) Arrow; Felicity, Oliver, Diggle; g; 855 words In which Felicity and Diggle introduce Oliver to the wonders of Kraft macaroni and cheese.
I wrote a bunch of words on things that aren't finished! I know that doesn't count, but it makes me feel better. Sigh. I'm definitely in the process of reassessing my relationship with writing, I tell you what.

The December talking meme yay:
December 1: selenak asked me to talk about Sam Wilson (either MCU or comics).
I'm going to go with MCU, since I know less about Sam in the comics (and choose to ignore some of the dodgy stuff in his comics origin, though I will say he is Steve's best friend in the comics and also absolutely wonderful with Bucky and you should all read the Adventures of Bucky Cap and How Sam Always Saves Him in the comics).
Sam! He's such a cutie! I love that Mackie ships him with Natasha, which explains SO MUCH - how they knew where he lived, and how Natasha straightened her hair, for two - and I love that he is already a good friend to Steve, who desperately needs one who is unaffiliated with SHIELD or his past. I love that he's put himself back together as a person after losing Riley/his purpose, and that he helps people for a living, and that even though he left that life behind, he helps Steve and Natasha because they need help and he's uniquely qualified to do so. I love that he takes away that guy's machine gun with that tiny little knife, because he might not have superpowers, but he can get the job done. I especially love him shutting down Rumlow's asinine Hydra speechifying. YOU'RE A NAZI, RUMLOW. STFU. Sam's having NONE of your self-aggrandizing bullshit.
I love that Sam's the voice of reason when Steve is grasping at straws (I mean, come on, you and I know Bucky is the kind you save, but SAM has no reason to know that and every reason to remind Steve of that). I love that Steve's going to go on his epic road trip to find Bucky after everything, and Sam's response is 'when do we start?' I feel like every superhero needs a Sam Wilson in their life to be sensible, patient, and caring, but also call them on their bullshit, and who knows better than to play therapist for his friends (though he can recommend some good therapists, because they should all be seeing one). And also provide choice musical recommendations and breakfast.
