In diesem Beitrag möchte ich anhand der autobiographischen Schrift von Kelemen Mikes untersuchen,... more In diesem Beitrag möchte ich anhand der autobiographischen Schrift von Kelemen Mikes untersuchen, welche Muster, Motive und Denkfiguren das Länderbild des Autors bestimmen und im Rückblick aus dem Exil zu Chiffren der Patria werden. Es geht mir also in erster Linie nicht darum, diesen Text auf seine Faktizität zu überprüfen. Durch die Untersuchung einer affektiven Fiktionalisierung des Patriotismus suche ich eine Antwort auf die Frage, wie im Kontext der imperialen Ambitionen der Habsburger und des nationalen Widerstandes Faktualität eingesetzt, Autofiktion und Fiktionalität erzeugt, und mit welchen Mitteln und zu welchem Zweck die Bilder vom verlassenen Vaterland funktionalisiert werden.

This paper sums up the results of a research project carried out in the Institute for Literary St... more This paper sums up the results of a research project carried out in the Institute for Literary Studies of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in the past five years. Written in exile in France and Turkey between 1716 and 1720 in Latin, Confessio peccatoris had its genesis at an intersection of various cultures in European autobiography. It is a special source for history and the history of thought, as well as a moving personal document. Its subjective quality points to Rousseau and the political autobiographies and autobiographical novels of the nineteenth century. This paper will examine the genre, the concepts of sin and grace, the relationship between fiction and reality, strategies of self-portrayal, and modes of narration.
Cupiditas és concupiscentia II. rákóczi Ferenc műveiben A Confessio peccatoris bűn-diskurzusának ... more Cupiditas és concupiscentia II. rákóczi Ferenc műveiben A Confessio peccatoris bűn-diskurzusának és kegyelem-koncepciójának vizsgálata közben felfigyeltem arra, hogy Rákóczi többször, többféle értelemben használja a cupiditas és a concupiscentia fogalmakat. A kifejezések a meditatív szakaszokban fordulnak elő elsősorban, de megtalálhatók az életrajzi részekben is. Mindkét fogalom a bűn konceptualizálásának keretei közé illeszkedik, szoros összefüggésben az önszeretet koncepciójával és az emberi természet mibenlétéről szóló fejtegetésekkel. A fogalmak az emberi nem bűnösségét hangsúlyozó, bibliai alapokon nyugvó, augustinusi gyökerű, janzenista színezetű negatív antropológia kifejtését segítik, gyakori használatuk is innen eredeztethető. A különbségtétel azonban nem jelenti a két fogalom éles elhatárolását. Rákóczi részben azonos vagy közel azonos értelemben használja a kifejezéseket, de jelentéstartományuk és használati módjuk nem teljesen fedik egymást. A fogalmakat és egymáshoz fűződő viszonyukat nem definiálja pontosan, de más műveiben megkülönbözteti, és néha egymás mellett használja 1 őket. The manuscript bequest of the literary historian, Romanist and linguist Zolnai Béla (1890-1969) i... more The manuscript bequest of the literary historian, Romanist and linguist Zolnai Béla (1890-1969) in the Department of Manuscripts of the Library and Information Centre of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences is a complex document in itself. It contains many discoveries not only in terms of the history of one field of research, but also in the history of several disciplines beyond. It shows the loss of erudition in a small way, which affected Hungarian literary studies including comparative literature in World War II and the decades that followed. The study presents some unpublished manuscripts and groups of manuscripts in French and Hungarian from the literary and literary-historical part of the bequest, including Zolnai's diary, an autobiographically inspired novel entitled Garázda Péter vallomásai [The confessions of Garázda Péter] and an unpublished translation of BalZac's novel Les Marana. It examines voluminous international correspondance, the peer reviews of the manuscripts of the critical edition of Mikes Kelemen's (1690-1761) works, analyzes some professional studies, lectures, and book manuscripts, and presents a list of books from Zolnai's library. A systematic examination of the bequest may allow us to discover Zolnai as a writer and can enrich the image of the translator. It can significantly nuance the reputation of the formerly internationally known scholar, as a researcher of RákócZi Ferenc II (1676-1735) and Mikes Kelemen, university professor, editor of the journal entitled "Széphalom", and cultural mediator. It may lead to a reconsideration of previous statements concerning the work of the scientist and can serve as a source for a better understanding of many events in twentieth-century microhistory. It may contribute to the expansion of the interpretative framework and to a revision of the canonization practice of Hungarian literature. At the same time, it may encourage a more accurate integration of this literature into international research.
Dans cette étude, j'examinerai l'image de la Hongrie, avec son histoire, sa société et son économ... more Dans cette étude, j'examinerai l'image de la Hongrie, avec son histoire, sa société et son économie, telles que François II Rákóczi se les représente rétrospectivement dans les deux oeuvres autobiographiques qu'il écrivit pendant son exil en France puis en Turquie. Je montrerai comment Rákóczi relate les événements historiques qui conduisirent à la guerre d'Indépendance de 1703-1711, comment il décrit le contexte militaire et divers autres aspects de cette guerre. J'analyserai ensuite les modèles, les motifs et les figures de pensée qui construisent l'image de la patrie quittée. Je m'interrogerai également sur la façon dont Rákóczi envisage les faits dans le contexte des ambitions dominantes des Habsbourg, de la résistance nationale et du patriotisme, enfin sur la manière dont Rákóczi joue de la fiction comme un auteur littéraire et instrumentalise par divers moyens l'image de la patrie pour servir ses propres buts.

Ekkor jelent meg Hágában az Histoires des Révolutions de Hongrie című gyűjteményes munka, negyedrétű és nyolcadrétű változatban, benne a Mémoires szövegével. A Mémoires „Örök Igazsághoz” címzett ajánló levelében Rákóczi megemlíti „les Livres de mes Confessions”-t. A Confessio Troyes-ban őrzött francia fordításának kéziratáról – az ugyanott található más Rákóczi-kéziratokkal együtt – a megyei nyilvános könyvtárak kéziratkatalógusának második kötete adott hírt először 1855-ben. A leírás megadja a kézirat teljes címét, terjedelmét és formátumát. Származási helyként a troyes-i oratoriánus kollégiumot jelöli meg, míg a ma Troyes-ban őrzött többi Rákóczi-kézirat közvetlenül a grosbois-i kamalduliak könyvtárából jutott jelenlegi őrzési helyére. Unter den popularen Erscheinungsformen der religiösen Bildersprache im Barock gebührt der Illustr... more Unter den popularen Erscheinungsformen der religiösen Bildersprache im Barock gebührt der Illustrationsgraphik und der Andachtsgraphik eine besondere Aufmerksamkeit. 1 Zwischen diesen zwei Gruppen, die nach Gebrauchsbestimmungen auseinandergehalten wurden, ist ein breites Übergangsgebiet zu finden, dem die Forschung bisher relatív wenig Aufmerksamkeit gewidmet hat. Hierher gehören unter anderem all jene Textillustrationen, Frontispize und Illustrationsserien, die in den verschiedenen Publikationstypen der geistlichen Literatur erschienen sind." Einen in ganz Europa verbreiteten Publikationstyp der geistlichen Literatur im Barock bilden die Mirakelbücher. Neben dem haufigen Vorkommen der Frontispize und Einzelillustrationen sind in diesen Büchern manchmal auch zusammenhangende Illustrationsserien aus mehreren Bildern zu finden. Wahrend die Frontispize und Einzelillustrationen aus dem originalen Zusammenhang heraus oft auch in einem anderen Kontext vorkommen konnten (z.B. als Andachtsbild, als Titelbild in Gebetsbláttern und Flugschriften) , verlieren dagegen die Bilden der Serien ohne den Textzusammenhang ihren Sinn, so dass sie anderswo nicht gebraucht werden konnten. Die Illustrationsfolgen in den Mirakelbüchern knüpfen regelmassig an die verschiedenen Erzahlgattungen an, und tragen zu Verstandnis. zur Deutung und Fixierung dieser Texte wesentlich bei. Damit haben wir schon auf jenes andere volkskundliche Forschungsgebiet hin gewiesen, mit dem die Analyse dieser Darstellungen verknüpft ist; auf die Erzáhlforschung. Heute braucht kaum noch betont zu werden, dass Bildforschung und Erzahlforschung, weil eng verwandte Kommunikationsprozesse betreffend, als komplementáre Bereiche anzusehen sind. Die Illustrationsserien der Mirakelbücher bedeuten nur eine unter vielen Möglichkeiten für die Zusammenarbeit der volkskundlichen Erzaehlund Bildforschung.! In dieser Zusammenerbeit darf auch die Kunstgeschichte nicht ausser Acht gelassen werden, die in der Analyse der Erzahlrnethoden herausragender Kunstwerke bedeutende Ergebnisse aufweist, und in der die Erforschung der Buchillustration zu einem selbstandigen Gebiet avancierte." Im Jahr 1749 besuchte Johann Christoph Gottsched Wien; über seine Eindrücke berichtete er an der ... more Im Jahr 1749 besuchte Johann Christoph Gottsched Wien; über seine Eindrücke berichtete er an der Universität Leipzig in einer lateinischen Rede Singularia Vindobonensia. Nach der kaum beachteten Schrift des Aufklärers betitelt, will die Reihe lateinische Literatur des (früh)neuzeitlichen Österreich in Texteditionen und Einzel untersuchungen erschließen. Mit ausgewählten Beiträgen einer 2016 in Miskolc veranstalteten Tagung widmet sich Band IX der Singularia Vindobonensia der Rezeption und Transformation augusteischer Dichter in der ungarischen Literatur des 18. und 19. Jahrhunderts und eröffnet Einblicke in ein literarisches Schaffen, das von der fruchtbaren Interaktion antiker, neulateinischer und vernakulärer Traditionen geprägt ist. In Auseinandersetzung mit Vergil entstand das deutsche Epos Tunisias des späteren Erzbischofs von Eger, Johann Ladislaus Pyrker, aber auch lateinische mythologische Gelegenheitsdichtung auf die Stadt Pécs. Eine besondere Bandbreite zeigt die Horaz-Rezeption: Themen horazischer Lyrik wie Freundschaft und Lebensgenuss waren Inspirationsquelle für Dichtung im Stil der Empfindsamkeit, während die sympotischen Oden mit einer reichen Überlieferung studentischer Trinklieder verschmelzen konnten. Der jungen Disziplin der Ästhetik diente die Ars poetica als Bezugstext, und schließlich eignete sich die auf Unabhängigkeit bedachte Dichterpersönlichkeit als Identifikationsfigur zur Standortbestimmung gegenüber der Habsburgermonarchie. An Ovids Schicksal interessierten neben seiner politischen Dimension nachantike Lokalbezüge, sodass nicht nur mythologische Stoffe für das Schultheater aus seinen Werken gewonnen wurden, sondern der verbannte Dichter selbst auf die Bühne trat. Die intensive schulische Ovid-Lektüre spiegelt sich in der Allgegenwart von Zitaten, sogar in wissenschaftlichen Kontexten. Nicht zuletzt dokumentieren Kataloge und zum Teil erhaltene Bestände von Adelsbibliotheken die Beschäftigung mit den lateinischen Klassikern.

Ide tartoznak többek között mindazok a belső illusztrációk, címlapelőzékek, illusztráció sorozatok, amelyek az áhítati irodalom különféle kiadványtípusaiban láttak napvilágot. 2 A barokk áhítati irodalom egyik Európa-szerte elterjedt kiadványtípusa a mirákulumos könyv. Ezekben a gyakran előforduló címlapelőzékek és egyes illusztrációk mellett néha több darabból álló, összefüggő illusztráció sorozatok találhatók. Míg a címlapelőzékek és az egyes illusztrációk az eredeti szövegösszefüggéstől elszakadva gyakran más kontextusban (pl. szentképként, imalapon, ponyvafüzet címlapján) is előfordulhatnak, a sorozatok tagjai az adott összefüggés nélkül értelmüket vesztik, ezért másutt nem használhatták fel őket. Az illusztráció sorozatok a mirákulumos könyvekben rendszerint a különböző elbeszélő szövegekhez kapcsolódnak, s jelentősen hozzájárulnak azok megértéséhez, értelmezéséhez és rögzítéséhez. Ezzel már utaltunk arra a másik kutatási területre, amellyel ezeknek az ábrázolásoknak az elemzése összekapcsolódik: a történeti elbeszéléskutatásra. Ma már nem kell hangsúlyozni, hogy a képkutatás és az elbeszéléskutatás-mivel szorosan összefüggő kommunikációs folyamatokat vizsgálnak-egymást kiegészítő területek. Und soerlangte in der Folge der Modebegriff Recycling eine gesellschaftliche Wertschätzung ähnlich dem Alufolie-Sammein, Kompostieren und Altkleidersammeln. Recycling -als ein bedachtsamer Umgang mit Dingen -ist kein neuartiges Verhalten; dass es auch kein neuartiges Thema in der volkskundlichen Forschung ist, legt Witt] an verschiedenen Beispielen dar. Leider vergisst er dabei die klassischen Arbeiten von F&l/Hofer zu erwähnen, ihre exemplarischen Schilderungen der «Lebensbahn» von Werkzeugen, Materialien und Gerätschaften in der bäuerlichen Welt des ungarischen Atäny, eine Welt, die nichts vergeudete, in der Gegenstände mit ihrem «natürlichen Tod» endeten, abgenützt, oft in einer sekundären Nutzung verbraucht. Die Weiterverwertung bereits genutzter Güter, das Flicken, Reparieren und Umschaffen gehört zum traditionellen Recycling innerhalb der Alltagsökonomie; die Verarbeitung von Altglas und Lumpen, das Umschmelzen von Metallen sind technische Verfahren, die schon seit Jahrhunderten geübt werden,
