Results revealed that Igba or traditional rituals which started from the family’s forefathers and ancestors and was basically passed on to them long time ago, usually when they were age 12 and above. Farmers also have different rituals performed in planting certain crops which are believed to help them in terms of economic, spiritual, and social aspects. Ritual symbols such as stone, “tibig”, “mayangan”, “kurumbot”, “sili”, “lukad”, “tanglad, “abo” were specifically used to assure them of protection of their crops and good harvest. Prayers like “Ama Namin” and “Aba Ginoong Maria” are also uttered upon the execution of some planting rites. There are some crops which are to be planted during low tide or “hibas”, full moon, or quarter moon, this ensures of plenty and good harvest. At the same, “bayanihan” or concern for others, sharing or generosity, pakikipagkapwa and pakikisama are firmly upheld during the practice of these rituals.
Farmers should continue practicing and sharing these rituals to their family and other Maubanins to preserve its authenticity. The local tourism office should also organize programs that will exhibit awareness on the traditional rituals. The lesson exemplar prepared as an output of the study should likewise be adopted by teachers in Mauban, Quezon.
