February, False Optimism, and My Faithful E-Trike
February has a way of making you believe things. It gives you a blue sky, a crisp morning, and a forecast that says snow isn’t expected for a few hours. A few hours feels responsible. Manageable. Practically generous.
Happy World Whale Day
World Whale Day is celebrated on the third Sunday in February. This year it is celebrated on February 15th. It began in 1980 in Maui, Hawaii, to honor migrating humpback whales and promote marine conservation.
Happy World Bonobo Day
Bonobo Day is celebrated every year on February 14th - the same day as Valentine’s Day. The date was chosen intentionally because bonobos are often called the “make love, not war” apes due to their highly social, cooperative, and affectionate behavior.

Roses, Chocolate, and the Language of Love
Roses and chocolate feel inseparable from Valentine’s Day, but that association wasn’t created by greeting cards alone. It evolved over centuries. Both were once rare, valuable, and deeply symbolic - perfect tools for expressing feelings people often struggled to say out loud.
