Plane crashed near my village...

Yesterday an accident happend in my village. Only 400 metres from my house a plane crshed into the ground and exploded. The pilot was killed because the Piper expolded and burned down. I´ve never seen something like this and I hope that I will never see it again. I live near to the oldest airport in Germany (called Hangelar and was open about 100 years ago.) and the pilot tried to reach it. But he crashed into a tree on a field. My son likes to play soccer on this field but he was at home. God bless! Fortunately the plane missed the houses and there weren`t no more casualties.
Firefighters were on the scene immediately, also the Police. About 20 fire engines Came to the scene. Because of roumors that a co-pilot was missing, a police helicopter and a squad with tracker dogs were also called to the field. But it was a fake message, so the pilot was the only victim.
A horrible experience!

I´m not dead....

Dear friends of wargaming and modelling!
I want to tell you that I´m still alive. But the workload in my job doesn´t allow to build modells, paint figures or post any new stuff in this blog. I hope that in the next weeks the situation will uncock. Until then I beg you pardon and I hope you will follow this blog again when new stuff is available.

Painting: How it started.....my first knights!

Have I ever mentioned that I started my "Minifigures-Painting career" about 3 years ago because I wanted to paint some knights for my older son? As a child I´d got hundreds of small soldiers but never painted them. I built loads of planes and battleships at that time and painted them, but never the minis. But when my son started to play with knights I started to build him a castle and purchased some knights. On weekend we cleaned up our cellar and I found these figures. I glued them on this stick for the pictures. As you can see, I had no ideas of "washing" or drybrushing three years ago. Some were never finished as well and some had heavy fights in the sandbox ;-). Perhabs I will give them a second try, just because the next son started playing with these figures...

X-mas on December 20th?

Yesterday my long awaited parcel arrived. It is a X-mas present I made myself with two kits, colours, SHQ-Figures and some equipment. As you can see there is the kit of the Sd.Kfz. 10 wich contains the figures from yesterdays post. In the next days I will show you the content of the boxes, if you like.

Weil es so wichtig ist, doch wieder auf Deutsch. Es sieht so aus, als würde der Jugendmedienstaatsvertrag nicht ratifiziert! NRW will ablehnen. Yeahhh!

Back from holidays

Back from holidays! After thress weeks at the baltic sea I want to say hello again to all of you. I was quite busy with modelling, because I took a few kits with me. So I build a Panzer IV and a Jeep from Hasegawa, a Sherman Firefly and a Comet from Revell and a Matador (Airfix) and a Stug III (Trumpeter) Pictures will follow.

Zurück aus dem Urlaub!
Nach drei WOchen Urlaub an der Ostsee ein Lebenszeichen. Ich war aber auch fleissig und hatte meinen "Werzeugkoffer" und einige Bausätze mit an die Ostsee genommen und ein wenig basteln. Dabei rausgekommen sind:
Ein StuG III von Trumpeter, ein Panzer IV von Hasagewa, ein Sherman und Comet von Revell (1:76), ein Jeep mit Anhänger von Hasegawa und ein Matador von Airfix. Da habe ich in den nächsten Tagen einiges zu lackieren......

Da ich einige Anfragen diesbezüglich hatte werde ich in Zukunft versuchen, die wesentlichen Punkte dieses Blogs ins Englische zu übersetzten. Da meine Englischkenntnisse etwas "eingerostet" sind bitte ich etwaige Fehler zu entschuldigen.
