Wargame Painting Drive

I have been on a wargame figure painting drive recently. I thought with an upcoming purchase to arrive in about 6 weeks I have lots of time to paint up figures.  I have over the last weeks totally gotten away from painting individual figures and painted up figures for armies.

Painting all 10mm World War I figures.  I ended up painting German Infantry, German Artillery, German High Command, French High Command, Russian Machine Gunners, Russian Infantry. So a little bit of everything in a way.  Made good progress over the weeks not great but decent for me.

I find I do not take good photographs of 10mm figures on the workbench.

German Heavy Gun I forgot the caliber.

When painting the French High Command I was going to paint the ribbons and medals on his chest and had all the color picked out.  I then thought about it and came to the conclusion on the table top no one would see them.  At 10mm it just was not going to make a difference.

French High Command when a row of medals just won’t make a difference.

Painted a few Russians as I wanted to something different.  I admit I was not planning on doing Russians until much later.  I got tired of doing the French and Germans and just went ahead and bought some for a change.  I know they will not get completed for sometime though.

The Russians are coming though slowly.

I am going to finish out the German Infantry and then switch over to the dismounted German Cavalry.  When they are finished I have another pack of French Infantry to paint.  Getting these done then I might paint up the Russian packs I have while I wait for some more German Artillery as I feel I am a bit light in that area.  I only have 3 light guns and 2 heavy guns. I will need some more for good corp and army size games.

I did find that the game mat came to my pleasure in only one week so I had to prepare a game for that and that is another post.
