This is beautiful - Joe Biden getting a free pass here...imagine a GOP Senator saying this:

"In Delaware, the largest growth in population is Indian Americans, moving from India. You cannot go to a 7/11 or a Dunkin Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I'm not joking."

Just another example why Senators (especially this one) generally aren't fit to be President.

Democrats in Congress are most definitely unpatriotic
So the Republicans in Congress called the Democrats bluff the other day, and put forward a motion for the immediate withdrawl of troops in Iraq. Of course, the Republicans never wanted to pull the troops out of Iraq - this motion forced the Democrats to "put up or shut up" regarding their shrill opposition to the war, and put their vote on record. Only 3 Democrats proved to be patriots here.

Wait, you might be saying, did Fake just called Cynthia McKinney (one of the 3 Democrats to vote for this motion), that crazy moonbat from Georgia, a patriot? Why yes, yes I did - Patriots do what they truly believe is right for their country, no matter how unpopular it is. The rest of the DemoTards opted to put politics over patriotism while betraying their principles (yeah, as if DemoLiars actually have principles besides saying "Bush Lied" and "No!"), their constituents who put them in office, and their country, by failing to stand up for a course of action they truly believed was best.

If Democrats want to be known as patriots, they must do what they think is right; they should have voted for immediate withdrawal. Considering the Democrats non-stop complaining about people questioning their patriotism over the past few years, when no one was questioning it to begin with, it proves the old adage of "where there's smoke, there's usually fire".

But riding the Subway is a privledge... not a right... right?

You have to adhere to certain rules in order to ride said Subway... like PAYING to get on it and such..

Let the games begin!!! SCOTUS pick tonight
Apparantly at 9pm tonight, Dubya is going to nominate 57 y/o Edith Clement to fill retiring Justice Sandra Day O'Connor's seat on the Supreme Court. Hundreds of millions of dollars will be spent by left-wing groups telling Americans how awful she is because she may find that states should determine whether abortion is legal, and hundreds of millions of dollars will be spent by right-wing groups telling Americans how perfect she is because she may find that the Federal government shouldn't determine whether states must have abortion legalized or not - and 100% of them will more than likely be idelogues blinded by partisan politics.

And almost 100% of the general public does not consider abortion to be the #1 issue facing the Supreme Court. Oh well, time to turn the TV on, sit back, get a beer, and watch the idiots all over the political spectrum argue points which will change the mind of ZERO Senators....the only votes that matter here.

I've got a thought or several on the "War in Iraq" and the "War on Terror". These opinions are mine, and mine alone, and are more or less a string of thoughts that sometimes run through my mind.

As most of you know, I was a strong supporter for going into Iraq, and freeing the people of that country from a dictator who brought about oppression and was helping to shape the ideology of the region into one of hatred and zealotry. I honestly felt that if we gave the people, the citizens of Iraq a choice between what they had, and what their future would hold, that they would choose a freer (and in our Western Ideology, better) life.

Clearly, this dude was not one of our finer Americans. And for such a big reader of the Bible, humility, tolerance, and forgiveness were concepts that were totally foreign to him.

Just browsing around a bit and noticing stuff.

I've been pretty much... how do I put this simply, disinterested in Politics lately. A lot of it has to do with the fact that the current issues of today are things that we've run through the ringer no less then ten trillion times. The other part of my issue is that no matter what I say, it seems that both sides of the political spectrum are outraged that my beliefs aren't boxed and framed into a small little convenient package that can be defined as either political affiliation.

I'll admit, lately... I've probably got a little more on the conservatives, and seem to have upset them when I have. Which is odd considering my history where I have been "the Great Satan" for picking up on the obvious flaws in the Michael Moore-ish sect of the left wing.

What we have here is a failure to communicate.

When exactly did both camps decide to put the barbed wire up, set up land mines, and launch mortar shots at each other? That is a rhetorical question because I know that most people already have their answers locked and loaded about how the other camp "started" all of this.

And while the troops call Iraq "the Sand Box", I think we have to admit to the fact that in this country we have "sand box politics", which pretty much amounts to a gang of kids who dominate the sand box, and push all the other kids "out of" the sand box. Our country has compensated by having two sand boxes now, and you can only play in one.

Seeing as I am currently sand box-less, I feel a little left out of some of the fun little games the kids play in their perspective ones. The Sandbox on the left side has Mad-Lib, which pretty much reads:

(noun) is like Hitler, only worse. (noun-book) is Mien Kampf, in English. And all (noun-group of white people) are all racist.

A short trip over to the other side of the play ground reveals a similar book. (noun) is a moon-bat for questioning anything. (noun-movie) is the most lie filled and hateful propaganda ever. All (noun-group of Democrats) sponge off the system.

These little cookie cutter speeches grow a little tiresome. Dean recently this card about "Republicans".

Some of the Democrats have taken notice and seem to be shoving this element directly out of their Sand Box.

A friend of mine will comment from time to time about how "there are no books written about the great compromisers". While I do understand this logic, I don't think a nation can be great with out those people willing to listen to both sides of the argument, and to combine ideas and ideals into something useful and good for our country.

And no, having a compromise on filibusters and judges doesn't quite cut it.

Where are the compromisers of our generation? Where are the people willing to work together, even if it means crossing party lines?

Where are the people who are willing to listen, instead of shout their epitaphs at each other?

The nation seems to be at a crisis point right now.

Which ever political party comes out of their sand box, and puts a compromiser on the ballot in 2008 will easily walk away with the election.

And perhaps, while we are all in the middle celebrating, they can bull doze away both of those boxes.

The other night, my wife and I were out in the backyard, doing some yard work and such. She had commented to me about something that I think had generally left our thought processes, and an event that I don't think we ever got a real conclusion to.

The execution of Nick Berg.

I remember that day, that the video of his beheading was released. It was linked to a website I visit often and out of some morbid curiosity I watched the video up to the point where the actual attack on him began. I remember hearing his helpless screams of horror and pain as the audio portion continued to run for several seconds after the media player was closed.

I literally hated myself for watching that.

In the weeks following his gruesome and disturbing death, several key facts about this story came out.

My wife asked me why people don't remember Nick Berg. I can't really say why the press stopped talking about him, as did the political pundits. From all accounts, the man was over in Iraq, doing "something", for a company that may or may not have existed. He was driving around in a truck with all sorts of electronic equipment, with no real explanation of what that electronic equipment was.

He was a supporter of the Iraqi people, who believed in their freedom at first, but later revelations said that he was against Bush's war, and felt those Iraqis deserved better. His father is/was a member of A.N.S.W.E.R., a group that strongly opposes anything right of Mao Zedong.

And somehow, this man came in contact not only with Michael Moore, but also with Zacarious Moussaoui, and Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, who is now number 2 in the world as far terrorism goes.

I guess what I would really like to see, to draw a conclusion from this event is the alleged 20 minute (give or take) video interview that Michael Moore did with this kid.

Michael Moore later went on to claim that he was respecting this kids right to privacy and his family's privacy. I guess I could agree with that, if it wasn't for the fact that he showed video footage of people morning deaths of their families in other movies he had created.

Personally, this video would bring forward and to light the reason Nick Berg was truly over there. Was he possibly taping for Michael Moore, and using this company that may, or may not have existed as a front? Or was he truly the Forrest Gump of our time who ended up being in the wrong place, at the wrong time.

I told my wife that the reason no one discusses this is because all political parties and people who were close to him had a level of culpability in his death. I'm not even going to try to argue with the fact that Nick Berg probably was detained by the Iraqi police and the FBI for 13 days. I'm not sure why he was or wasn't deported.

After he was released, I wonder why he chose to stay in Iraq. I also wonder how he came to meet al-Zarqawi? Was this perhaps a chance meeting, or an interview that went horribly wrong.

Maybe I'm wrong to speculate about what really happened, and ultimately, Nick Berg paid the ultimate price, no matter what his beliefs are.

It has been said that we live in a fictitious time, with fictitious election results and with fictitious wars. The death of this kid was in no way fictitious.

And Michael Moore holds one of the keys to solving one of the most horrific crimes witnessed in our life time.

Arguing with Liberals and Why I've Stopped.
Every time I argue with a Liberal, I’m reminded of quarrels I used to have with my parents. The battles never seemed fair because my folks decided what the rules were and what was out of bounds. In addition, because they were parents, they could threaten me in ways I couldn’t threaten them, and they could say things I could never say.

Recently, for example, I was discussing the United Sates Supreme Court with on of my many Liberal friends out in Los Angeles when she said, without any discernable embarrassment, that Justice Anton Scalia was “worse than Hitler”. Realizing she wasn’t alive during World War II and perhaps she may have been absent on those days when her schoolmates were studying Nazism, I reminded her of some of Hitler’s more egregious crimes against humanity, suggesting she may have overstated the case. She had not; Scalia was worse. As I often did when my parents threatened to send me to my room, I let the conversation die.

Personal Beliefs Vs. the New Conservatism.


I am not going to post this in my own journal, because I understand that you guys have a level of maturity about you that doesn't seem to exist with in certain portions of my Live Journal. Also, I want to give you my perspective as a non-practicing Roman Catholic, who has been some what shocked by the recent salvo fired over the metaphoric Catholic battleship after the Popes death.

Any one who has known me for any length of time knows that I don't really identify with one group or ideology. I think that limiting myself to a strict set of principles often leads me to be at odds with my conscious. This goes in both directions, and towards both political parties, and political ideologies. Basically, I don't feel that a hammer is always the right tool, and sometimes a different tool in the hand helps to complete the job.

You know what old saying about "first they came for so and so... and I did nothing"? Well, I'm getting that vibe right now from the conservatives. To me, it feels like they are slowly pairing off any one who is different from them, and ostracizing parts of their voting block.

The basic cruel and insensitive comments aren't limited to just the right wing in regards to the Pope, but the most glaring and appalling are coming from that direction. Even as a non-practicing Roman Catholic, I am appalled by the statements and actions of some on the right wing. And was the case with Michael Moore, thus shouting the loudest and saying the least are often the most disturbing.

If you've known me for any length of time, you know that as far as persecution of any group goes, I'm generally the first person to stand up and say something about it. I guess it was only a matter of time before the group I was quasi-part of was put down in a similar fashion. I don't know why it offends me so much, but it does.

I've always have been of the belief that people pray to God(s) in different ways, but we are all talking to the same person. The Religious vehicle that a person uses that allows them to feel closest to God is not my place to judge, or speak about. Only when that religion becomes a shield for malicious intent do I speak out about it, and only in a way that asks for the leaders to be some what accountable for their actions.

I've been told lately, by people who feel that they have my best interest at heart that I should revile the Pope. These people as my friends have told me to look away from Catholicism, and to turn my back on a set of principles that have been handed down for generations inside of my Polish upbringing. They see the Popes passing as a crack in the church and now feel that they have their opportunity to once and for all knock the Vatican and its people to the ground.

And they will learn, as Stalin did, that words and armies will never crush something that is so much more important then those.

And that is a faith in something greater then us.

There is no crack in the Church, but a small crack is being formed in conservative movement in this country. I warn them to take care of this crack, or eventually the metaphoric damn will break.

And once that happens, there is no turning back.

I really don't know what the US can do at this point. We have strong economic ties to China, which would ruin a lot of companies that are US based but are out sourcing in China (whether you think that is good or not is also a factor).

Personally, we need China to at least be neutral while the war on Terror exists. We don't want this to turn into a situation where "the enemy of my enemy is my friend". At the same time, we can't run around the world claiming to be liberators while ignoring an issue like this.

Personally, I'd like to see China take a more active role against N. Korea. If we can divert their attention away from Taiwan, and toward Kim Jong Il, perhaps they can ties themselves up in that particular fiasco while Taiwan moves towards independence.

Any thoughts?

So I've just had a few random thoughts going through my mind over the weekend and such. There are certain political things I'm still not completely grasping, like why Hollywood feels that it should be involved in politics at all. I guess that really isn't my place to say they should or shouldn't be involved... but I don't understand how Leonardo DiCaprio's (sp) Oscar make him any more qualified to speak on political issues then I am.

I think that it is time to start the pulling out of our troops from Iraq. I think we should declare this a military victory over the Iraqi army, and leave. I think the important lesson I learned (and I hope other Fox News watchers learn as well) is that just because someone doesn't like Saddam (or currently Syria in the case of Lebanon) it doesn't immediately mean that we are going to walk in and be accepted any more so then the bad situation those people already were in. I don't think the lose of life in this war has been catastrophic as some of the people on the left feel it has been, but at the same time I don't see us making any head way in that country any more.

Nor is it our responsibility to.
