Dear Yuletide Author
Hello! First off, thank you in advance for the lovely story I'm sure I will get for Yule!
I promise you there will be more specifics for my requested fandoms coming soon. It's my 19th wedding anniversary on the 11th, so it probably won't be until the 12th or 13th, but since I gave you pretty much nothing to go on in my last-minute signup, I've at least jotted down a few thoughts on each here.
Or hey, if you've got a great idea for one of the fandoms I requested all on your own, run with it! So long as it doesn't hit any of my squicks (which I listed in the signup and will repaste below in case other authors come trolling for treats) I'm sure I'll love it.
Things I like: Hurt/comfort, angst, fluff, OT3s, incest, adventures, humor, smut, character studies. Crack!fic that has a purpose/narrative. Epistolary fic. Interactive fic. I have no problem with explicit sex scenes, slash, het, or otherwise.
Things I don't like: random AUs (high school, figure skating, etc: anything that takes them out of the general world they're already in), mpreg, hardcore BDSM, some kinks (a little bloodplay is nbd, but scat, watersports and baby RP are the ones that come to mind most as not really my thing. Also hardcore obsessions with a certain body part like a foot fetish).
Fandom 1
Across the Universe
Max Carrigan, Jude Feeny
More details to come, but I love these two as friends or as more. And feel free to add in other characters, or even write something solo with one or the other of them. Set before, during, or after the film, anything would be love.
Fandom 2
The Martian
Mark Watney
More details to come, but I love missing scenes, so if there's anything you'd like to delve into that wasn't in the film, go for it, or feel free to write something after they got back. Add in other characters, make it shippy or keep it gen, I just saw this recently and really liked it. And by the time reveals happen I should have finished reading the book as well, so if you have and you want to pull from that instead/as well, have at.
Fandom 3
Mr. Robot
Elliot Alderson, Darlene Alderson, Tyrell Wellick, Joanna Wellick
More details to come, but in this one I honestly don't expect a story that encompasses all four of them. I just couldn't decide who I'd rather hear about more, Elliot and Darlene or the Wellicks, so feel free to go in either direction, or if you're really ambitious or inspired, write all four in and blow my Yuletidey mind. :D Backstory, forwardstory, whatever you like.
Fandom 4
Graceland
Mike Warren, Paul Briggs, Johnny Tuturro
So first off, I have to admit that I've only watched the first season, but I plan to watch the rest by the end of the year, so feel free to write in later seasons, though any prompt ideas I have will be rooted in the earlier stuff. Also, like Mr. Robot, I requested Mike, Paul, and Johnny because I love them all and couldn't decide who I wanted to hear about, although I do really really want something with Mike. If you want to just do something about Mike and Paul or Mike and Johnny, don't feel you have to shoehorn the third one in there. They can be friendly, shippy, or at complete odds, whatever works for your story.
Fandom 5
Bloomsbury RPF
Vanessa Bell, Duncan Grant, Bunny Garnett, Virginia Woolf
Okay, so I came into Bloomsbury in a roundabout way, by first falling in love with the BBC miniseries "Cambridge Spies" and with Julian Bell in particular. So I started learning more about him and his family and just kind of fell in love with the whole lot of them. I especially love the idea of Duncan, Vanessa, and Bunny living together at Charleston, so I would dearly love a fic set there. Virginia doesn't necessarily have to be in the fic, although she was so much a part of Vanessa's life she should probably at least be mentioned somewhere, and if you'd like to add in other Bloomsbury regulars such as Lytton, Clive, Leonard, Vita, etc, do feel fre. Also, if you want to make me super-duper especially happy, stick Julian and/or Quentin and/or Angelica in there somewhere. :D
Once again, thank you so much for taking the time to write a story just for me. I have been a Yuletider for several years now, and it's always one of my favorite parts of the holidays.
Happy Yuletiding, and may the plot bunnies be plentiful!
