Leonard (2012) investigates the importance of silence within the series, exploring the groundbreaking episode ‘The Body’ where silence speaks louder than words to dissect the reality of raw emotions when experiencing grief and loss. Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997) uses metaphors and myths to connect its audience to a fantasy world known as the Buffyverse, while still relating to real life situations. This paper analyses the music behind the show, from the televisions score to the music played at ‘The Bronze’, with a detailed investigation into the famous musical episode ‘Once More, with Feeling’. This paper signifies the importance of music and sound in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, exploring the influence that it has on the Buffy fandom.
This paper explores the evolution of the digital age of music, focusing on how streaming services... more This paper explores the evolution of the digital age of music, focusing on how streaming services have changed the way that the music industry creates, produces and distributes music. Based on a study conducted in 2016, a number of participants were asked a series of questions based on their music purchasing and listening habits. This paper examines the outcome of these results while incorporating further research to discover the future possibilities and limitations of music streaming services.
