In relation with Paris CNRS/IHTP Fashion Research Seminar, this blog is meant to give support to a seminar held in Shanghai from september 2013. This scientific platform is a place of encounter and exchange for the community of fashion experts.
It focuses on Asian fashion and welcomes researchers from various disciplines in social sciences (History, Sociology, Anthropology), as well as Management and Fashion Design.
It is also open to professionals of the fashion industry (designers, manufacturers, distributors),and the media, who are welcome to contribute as guest speakers.
At last students specialized in fashion research will find here a stimulating place to exchange on fashion issues, past and present.
This monthly seminar is organized by Sabine CHRETIEN-ICHIKAWA, a French researcher based in Shanghai, who holds a Ph.D in Business History from EHESS in Paris. Her thesis focused on China and Japan relations in the fashion industry. Her research interests lie in emerging fashion systems and creative industries. Volunteers for the coordination team can contact her.

A conference is planned in 2015 in Paris, and a call for papers will be posted at the end of this year.
