I received my PhD from the University of Manchester in 2010. My thesis was entitled: Monstrous Identity in Late Medieval Romance and Lais. My current research focuses on monsters and monster theory in late medieval romance and 21st-century urban fantasy. Under the name Hannah Kate, I am a published fiction writer, reviewer and radio presenter.
