I enjoy playing DA, it has a very good rule set and it very logical and this equates to a very tactical game. I originally brought the models for a painting project. I got a Skarrd starter and then I went all “toxic” and got Father Curwen etc. I suppose it was because I used to have a 40K Death Guard army and enjoy all things toxic. The latest addition to the Skarrd Toxic models is the “Abomination”. Here is the model and stat card.

Its a stunning model and on an 80mm base as well but it the all the MALfunctions that I’m not sure about. They are on every weapon! It also appears that they have changed the MAL on the Pod Gun from 18 (as is listed in the Force book) to 20. If you haven’t played DA before you would roll 3 D20;s when shooting with AG#3 and if you get a 20 then its a Malfunction and Bad things happen such as The Unit using the weapon suffers an immediate hit by its own attack. In some situations, it is possible for a weapon to both MAL and still hit its target.
DA keep the errata’s online and upto date but I still think that a MAL on every weapon is, well , just too much. It is amazing how often the MAL is rolled and unless you have a model with the IMMACULATE MAINTENANCE ability which is that All MAL Stats of friendly units are increased by “1” while a unit with this ability is on the battlefield. If a MAL Stat is “20” then treat it as “-“. I will have to see if the Skarrd have access to this ability.
Still it is a model that I think would be fun to paint and model (the original aim of the Skarrd army) so I think I will get one soon.
