So we have confirmed housing: it would arrive in waves. Monday it starts and starts with premium housing of Belfalas. Normal housing would return later. Which is ok, we need housing and date when it returns. Surely, we can wait.

World chat was alive and fortunately, not political. Of course, most people really hate The Orange Man and rightfully do so. But such opinion, no matter how logic, should have zero place in mmos.

I tried to talk, to ask for help (and receive it!). Was able to aid one person in Limlight Gorge with one overgrown spider. And no doubt, was happy to see Laurelin player telling Meriadoc chat was way much better. Of course, it is. Laurelin /World was a cold, toxic place for elitists and haters.

Now just to wait for housing and resume my Mission grind.

Unfortunately, Meriadoc was plagued with senseless discussions. It started with “metric vs imperial meaures”, then went down to Donald Trump and his lunatic allies. I am not a fan of orange president, but hey, game chat is not the place for politics/religion. Politely asked to stop, nobody listened. A pity. I expected new server to be free of political nonsenses. Free of flaming noises.

Bright side: managed to help one player with Misty Mountains. Basically it involved killing all giants, later – killing all Dourhands. Another player needed someone to summon him to distant location – I was happy to help. First player asked how could he repay me (as if being human needs payment). My answer was one and simple: “When you become top level and strong, aid others”. That’s all I need.

Kickstarter finished, now fans and haters discuss what would/could happen next. I await my turn to start adventures. Even if they would be really temporal. Let us taste, let us see. And in case they could offer at least tiny plot for free players – I may stay there. As long as they are not hardcore total war, of course.

To my surprise – I skipped mission routine on Windstorms. Instead, just chatted in /World chat. Interesting. In Laurelin I could not do so, because of coldness and toxicity of local /World.

There I could joke, ask for suggestions, gives them and so on. Even managed to talk to one of folks from Laurelin. It was nice, warm time when I felt no rush, no “omg, I need to grind another million xp!!!”. A calm time.

Which is really good. So far Meriadoc shows how any server should look like.

Housing is still not activated. Everyone awaits, every second player asks and rest players are making jokes. Nobody is angry, nobody rushes.

SSG announced they introduce additional servers: one for US, one for EU. It’s high time. Players’ enthusiasm is huge, servers are almost overloaded.

Stars reach

Kickstarter finished with some 750.000 $ collected (initial goal – around 20.000). They boost several investors came, presumably offering ~1 million (each?). Now, they just process data and then send gifts. Which means I could finally try Stars Reach to see how it really looks like.

Well, so far SR head towards combat, almost all improvements are about combat. Judging from Bloxd – this is what players want. Nobody cares about building or roleplay (well…minority like me cares, but who cares about minority?). So far SR go for becoming EVE 2.0.

But I will wait and then try this new, promising mmo.

So far I can feel alive in Lotro. And really interested to see how Stars Reach looks like.

Windstorms did little: few easy missions and that’s all. Nothing more to do.

On Stormsong, I am still really surprised at life in this server. World chat is full of life. No hate, no trolling, no nonsenses. Some jokes. Enough roleplay. The only thing that can disturb – many talks in foreign (non-English) languages. To my surprise, I was able to offer and receive help. I was able to joke and be understood/listened to. It’s absolutely different from Laurelin. Even if there are many players from Laurelin.

We shared some jokes. The most ‘risky’ was MAGA – Make Agarnaith Great Again; Make Angmar Great Again…Others were not that political and they were refreshing. So far Meriadoc is really alive with normal, civilized life. One I really missed in Laurelin.

And Laurelin players posted names of kinships and servers they transferred to. The Family and Beggars Can’t be Choosers moved to other servers (not Meriadoc). A pity. At least Family was a quality Kinship (untill all this stuff with leadership changes every few months).

I am happy in Meriadoc. So far everything is good, community exists and is active.

And so the day was over, a good and warm one in Lotro.

Thanks to decyphered SSG logic – my Ahelissa and her Grumpy Kin finally transferred. I had to abandon old Kinship house and only then could I transfer. All thanks to some kind player, because SSG would give zero hint.

So, The Grumpy Kin functions and it is ok. I posted some humorous advertising, like “Our Kinship is unsocial, not raiding, not helpfull, it dislikes all races and classes. And for yoru information, it is not recruiting”. A light self-trolling. Some kind of parody for all those “This Kin is social, active, accepts everyone, we raid, have house, Discord, have lots of fun, IM for details”.

Windstorms ran few Missions, reached only 2 levels (which is too low) and that’s all. I still could not find anyone to have small talk to. My questions if anyone needs help are always left unanswered.

Now just have to wait for housing to become active. Then – some purchases, paying taxes in advance and things are back to normal.

Nothing. Few random lobbies with random kids. Of course, kids build what their 5-years old brain tells: parkour or prison.

Two days untill Early Access. Mixed thoughts, but at least I would be able to try  something new. And then we will see what SR evolves into. My guess is, it is becoming new EVE online. But well, we shall see.

I was on a little trip to one nice town – so no Lotro. Returned a bit tired, at Sunday there was almost no Lotro. Just writing down proposed LI setup for Loremaster and chatting.

Still trying to adapt to situation where we have chats exploding from players and they actually talk. No hate, no “my religion/politics is the best, you infidels”, no trolling. So strange, so absolutely different from Laurelin!

Was trying to tell story about Mhadhal the Mad  – one that I created and I think it is funny. Got little interest. Yet there were light-rp talks whch were really quality and nice. Turns out, /World on Meriadoc is not that cold hate/trolling place it used to be in Laurelin.

Transfer of my toon did not happen – requested transfer for second time. Maybe this time it will succeed.

What I really need in Meriadoc: any player/group of players to socialize with. There are kind players that could support me should I need aid. But I need at least one friendly face like my kin Leader, the famous Taltoz, was.

Nothing. These random kids with “me ban u”. Me making havoc on their servers in return.

Stars Reach

End of kickstarter approaches, so I should be able to play and try to build something meaningfull on my [temporal] place of land. Absolutely not sure what kind of society I will find there.

My guess is simple: initially it would be idealists, supporters. They could be nice, helpfull, cooperating. All while lots of folks would explore and try their best. Colonize, build, maybe trade. Later, with more people joining, new folks would realize they could form PvP groups to slaughter anyone they meet. Even if your planet is peacefull, space above it may be dangerous. Much later, SR will turn into EVE v.2.0: huge fleets fighting for dominance, destroying planets and bases, taking all resources. I guess it’s natural evolution if Stars Reach follows the path it follows now.

For Raph, I would show example of Bloxd: everything that can be destroyed, would actually be; if no PvP, players just do not want to stay; slaughtering is almost encouraged, honour is something nobody knows of.

Anyway, my adventures on Meriadoc continues, I will do my best to find any friendly player to socialize with. And I know I must solve questio about me and kinships. Solution may be radical, but solution is needed.

Windstorms was the only really active. We have xp-bonus weekend, so I took all easy missions. New level is so close.

I still cannot get accustomed to the fact that server is full of players and activity. Kinships advertising (not seen in Laurelin ofr years), random players joking, trolling, asking. It is still so strange for me.
Of course, when there are too many people, my voice is lost. Add too many talks in foreign languages (German, russian, some Scandinavian languages…) and you get a bit of chaos.

I managed to get some aid about Loremaster. Not all that I needed – but at least some. Will use it later.

My question about Kinship is still without any answer. Maybe I want something unreal. Because I want Kinship that is active almost every day – be it mini events, big events, questing or just dungeon runs. I want Kinship where I could just have small talk about almost anything (except religion, politics and all intimacy related stuff). A Kinship where I could get help with so typical for me “use this or that?”.

Simple logic dictates two easy outcomes: look for probably small Kinship or just do not look for any Kinship. Big kinships may mean I would become Just Another Member number 719.

Alas, our new servers would be on maintenance again (!). Yes, I will lose playing time – but main thing is not to use in-game things. After last downtime some players lost their wallets, so I am really suspicious.

Almost nothing. Nobody visits, I could stand for hours shooting animals or just flying.

Kickstarter ends in few days. Let us take a look when it ends and I could try SR. Maybe I will take some little plot of land and try to build my own little town (mind you, not that large Novocastrum with 500 people. No game would give me that huge territory for free).

Meriadoc is busy. I am pleasantly surprised with it. First,w e have many people going, crafting, doing something. Then, kinship recruitment advertising is back. Of course, same good old school “we are nice, friendly, do instances…”. But still it is and hope, they will get new members.

As in Laurelin, almost nobody needs aid with questing. But at least some people react. Some react to my jokes (just no more Mordor style). That’s…refreshing and encouraging.

Managed to aid (oh old good times!) one player with crafting. And yeah, had to rename my good old toon to another, not so nice, name.

Meriadoc is busy, sometimes laggy. Probably that’s why yesterday almost all new servers were shut down for some maintenance. I hope today things will be better.

In Lotro I start feeling better. I have at least some socialization. I have a chance to ask and get answers. To help others. Question about me and kinship remains open. Maybe my future is being without one? Or one little, yet pretty much family-like and active? This is something I have to decide. But future is not that grumpy anymore.

My new life on Meriadoc is going well so far. I can have talks, people respond to my IMs (something that was very rare in Laurelin) and very little nonsense talk, like politics and religion.

I have left my Kinship. Waited untill our leader arrived. Told short good-bye. And pressed button “Quit”. As one person told – “This chapter is over”. It leaves me with many unanswered questions though.
Another bad news: city of Umbar. It so heavily lags I could not ride from local Tavern to local taskboard. Every few steps got automatically disconnected. This is what they call “less lag”?

Bright side: I was able to help few people with their low-level needs. At last some light at the end of tunnel!
Windstorms was happy to do all she could. Gain some experience, get to another level and advance Legendary track. I do need to employ Windstorms for that.

So, Meriadoc could be place to live in. Let us hope for the best.

4 random visitors: 2 asked for creative and left, one arrived and left, another sent me spam advertising mail and left.
I was visiting random servers. So far Poles are the worst. They just kill or ban everyone they do not know personally. Typically it goes like “Hey, who is [my nick]?” – “No idea. Ban him”. Or just without talks: you arrive, you got killed or simply banned.

My life is getting a bit better. I can have at least minimum socialization. I can be heared, my IMs can be answered – what a miracle, if compared to cold, toxic and grumpy Laurelin!

Kinship life is complicated, I need my answers from myself. But so far, let’s just enjoy normal social life in Lotro.
