Privacy

Your privacy matters.
This plugin transmits only non-personal, technical information required for vulnerability tracking:

  • WordPress core version
  • Installed plugins (name, version, active status)
  • Installed themes (name, version, active status)
  • PHP version
  • Site URL and home URL
  • OS information (name, version)

Important: Users must explicitly enter an API key in the settings to enable data transmission. No data is sent without this configuration.

No user data, posts, or content are ever sent.
All communication occurs securely via HTTPS.

Installation

  1. Upload the plugin files to /wp-content/plugins/vulndex-beacon, or install it directly from the WordPress plugin installer.
  2. Activate the plugin via Plugins VulnDex Beacon.
  3. Go to Settings VulnDex Beacon and enter your API key.
  4. Done. The plugin automatically creates a unique Node ID and starts reporting to VulnDex.

FAQ

Does this plugin collect personal data?

No. Only anonymized technical information about your WordPress environment is transmitted.

Is this plugin required for VulnDex?

It’s optional – but recommended if you want your WordPress sites included in your vulnerability management dashboard.

How often does it sync?

Every two hours by default and on (de)activtion of plugins and/or themes. You can also trigger a manual sync anytime.

What happens if I uninstall it?

All stored data (API key, Node ID, status) and scheduled events are fully removed in your WordPress site. To remove data from VulnDex contact your administrator.
