Once upon a time, there was a girl named Lily. She was a nice girl, right up until the point where she realized that 'nice' means 'harmless and pretty forgettable.' She then set out to become a mean old bitch. Sadly for her and luckily for a lot of other people, she failed at her mission, turning out mildly cranky and mostly jovial instead.

Then, she got a livejournal and discovered fandom. It all went downhill from there.

A Note on Friending: Yes, of course you can friend me! I've yet to see anyone who doesn't enjoy that when it happens. (And if I ever do, I still won't understand the sentiment.) If you do choose to friend me, drop me a line/comment to that effect. It'll give me a nice ego boost and let me know you exist.

As for friending back - or friending in general, on my end - I tend to treat my friendslist as a reading list, rather than a popularity contest, so it helps immensely if you and I have something in common. Knowing me in real life also works. There are no obligations on either end. Just because I friend you doesn't mean you have to return the favor (though I'll bounce girlishly if you do). And vice versa. Similarly, if I take you off my fl, it's not intended as a personal insult, nor will I get at all offended if you remove me from yours. Every day is LJ amnesty, as far as I'm concerned.

I do use filters, but for the most part, they're there on a need-to-know basis. If you need to know, you generally already do. Once upon a time, I also filtered fannish posts, based on which parts of my fl were likely to give a toss. That time has passed.

Which brings me to another point. Take a look at my interests list. Why, yes, that's a lot of geeking, and yes, my journal reflects it. Fear or glee at your own discretion.
