But mostly I am just really worried that we'll lose power and my Pottermore Welcome letter will finally arrive and I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT!
ETA: Adding a note that the link goes to pics of a creepy looking Voldemort baby. Though I suppose all Voldemort babies would be creepy looking. As is the idea of a baby Voldemort. Whatever. You've been warned!
- We are cleaning out the video camera for the big trip and just watched video from our trip to Disney in 2006. Son was 7 at the time and SO FUCKING ADORABLE. Also, while I weigh less now than I did on that trip, I have forbidden my husband from video-taping me from the back.
- Yesterday, when I was getting off the Metro at the end of the day, a woman stopped me to tell me that, unbeknownst to me, a man that had got off the train a few stops before had taken a photo of me. She was concerned he might have been looking at sensitive stuff on my nook, but I was just reading a book. Still, it was a little weird. I wasn't wearing anything short or low-cut, so I can't imagine why he'd have wanted a photo of me.
- On Saturday, as we got up from our table to leave, our waiter (who I forgot to mention was Ianto Jones's American twin) reached out his hand to me as if to help me up. But he was too far, really, so that by the time I could reach his hand, I was already up. And then I thought, well maybe he was trying to shake my hand? Or something? It was confusing. Maybe it was some secret posh restaurant sign that I am too hopelessly bourgeois to know. AWKWARD!
- Tomorrow night I am going to see Glee LIVE with wordplay. Don't judge me.
Here are links to things I found in my online travels today:
1) Last Saturday (6 March), I went to the British Library to see the Evolving English exhibit, which I recommend if you're in the area. At the end, you can leave a recording of your voice in a voice bank for future study. They've already begun analyses on the voices and found that Americanisms are NOT taking over British English.
3) Found these really fascinating videos titled Unfinished London (they are pretty specific to unfinished transport, but still fabulous!): Part 1 and Part 2.
Also. I found a Harry/Draco fic today where they meet (and play matchmaker to!!) Bradley and Colin. Just. There is not enough O.O in the world for that.
Have spent the day in bed nursing the cold that I've been trying to fight off all week (also, that time of the month, yay!), mostly reading and chatting to wordplay and foldingstar.
I just went downstairs for some tea and decided that a bagel with Nutella would make a nice dinner.
Do you remember, when you were a kid, waiting for the toaster to pop up and knowing it was going to happen ANY MOMENT and still jumping when it did?
