Jewellery related post!

Posted on 2014.11.18 at 17:31
One thing I know about myself and my illness is that the slightest hint of pressure, whether self-imposed or from outside, makes my foggy-at-the-best-of-times brain completely seize up and my body pretend it doesn't know me. This has got worse in the last couple of years, but the fact I recognise it helps me avoid pressure where I can and deal with it on my own terms if I can't. This year, because I'm feeling the pressure to raise the cash to sort my chicken run out, it's completely paralyzing me when it comes to actually making jewellery to enable that to happen, so I've decided to just go with the flow and put pieces up as I make them on my Creating Chaos FB page and post links here and on Live Journal each time I do so. I'll also be able to put up pieces I've chosen that I've made in the past which can be made to order, that way, everything is in one place and anyone interested in looking (and hopefully) purchasing, can just scroll through at their leisure and if interested in a piece, can then contact me via FB, LJ or email.

Make sense? Somebody please tell me if it doesn't!!

For those waiting for chicken piccies, I took some and they will be up soon. You have no idea how hard it is to photograph a chicken, they never stop moving, so I can't vouch for picture quality!

Starving Kitties become Wet Footed Chickens!!

Posted on 2014.11.11 at 00:33
Just popping in to say there will after all be a small post with a few items of jewellery I've made this year for sale, mostly because if it rains any more, my chickens will float away and I need to replace the bark in their run, bless them. It'll be up one day next week, during one of my brief periods of consciousness.

Photos of said chickens, Hazel, Myrtle, Primrose and Isobel, can be provided on request :D

No Starving Kitties post this year :(

Posted on 2014.10.24 at 21:23
I have new work to offer, but it doesn't seem right to be away a whole year and then bounce back in, hoping folks will buy my work. I doubt anyone remembers the poor Starving Kitties and their yearly plight anyway ;)

Hello? Anyone home?

Blessings of the winter solstice!

Posted on 2013.12.21 at 15:00
I've just been up in the woods above my house, collecting greenery, it being the winter solstice and all. I had an adventure, collected holly while a red kite circled and cried overhead, slipped down a muddy bank and got the giggles as I sat in the mud and came home triumphant! I have holly, both dark green and a gorgeous variegated one full of red berries, ivy and yew branches. No mistletoe, but that's probably not a good idea with Loki in the house ;)

I need painkillers and tea and then I am going to deck the halls! Well, tidy them up and then prettify them a bit, but that doesn't really have the same ring to it, does it?

Betcha thought it wasn't going to happen but here it is. Better late than never? Maybe. This week has been chaotic (note that word) and one of the reasons for that chaos is currently sleeping in the bathroom where I have put him to stop him getting his tiny paws into absolutely everything and allow me to photograph my work. I can't hear him, so I'm guessing he is indeed napping. There will be another post later today about him, so forgive me for being mysterious for now.

I'm well aware how late this is, so unless you're in the UK or Europe, realistically these may not be there for Christmas/Yule/Solstice/Rat-Up-A-Trouser-Leg Festival. If I need to make it for you, definitely not. Maybe a January treat for yourself? ;)

So then, before the goodies, a brief repost of the payment, shipping etc blurb from last year.

-Payment from outside the UK should please be by Paypal (other methods by negotiation, I do try to be flexible, but paypal is easiest and fastest) and this is also preferred in the UK, but if that's a problem, cheque or postal order is ok. Also and this is important, when you pay by paypal, could you please use the 'gift' button, or I lose some of the money.

UK postage
- £5 Special Delivery, or £2 normal First Class post. First Class UK post is not insured and I can't accept the responsibility for replacement, so if it's sent normal first class and it's gone, there could be tears. That said, that doesn't happen very often.

Europe and the Rest of the World
-I strongly prefer to send items outside the UK via insured mail as standard. This usually comes to around £10-£12, but as this is a lot, I am charging £7 for Europe and £8.50 insured post for the rest of the world, so I will bear some of the cost. I CAN send pieces abroad uninsured and I will if you ask me, but I wouldn't recommend it, not with something like jewellery and not at this time of year.

-Finally, if you like a piece but can't afford it, talk to me. I don't bite and if I can help with payment in installments then I will. Please do bear in mind though I'm working to a really tight budget myself and this is all so I can actually afford to sort Christmas out.

-And finally finally, I know some of these pieces will seem really expensive, but as any of you who read my LJ regularly know, silver has gone through the roof these last few years and my prices have to reflect that :( Trust me, they'd all be a hell of a lot more through a gallery and in fact, most jewellers charge a lot more equivalent on their own websites.

So, to sum up, this is what you do:

1.Find a shiny you like, squee loudly and excitedly and decide that you would like to purchase it for yourself or one of your lovely and I'm sure beautiful and marvellous friends or relations (THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT STAGE, BE SURE NOT TO OMIT THIS ONE *grin*)

2.Leave a comment or PM me to let me know which shiny you like. You can squee again at this point if you wish to, this is free and my ego will adore you for it.

Ok then, here we go. There are five 'new' pieces and my work is now all made from recycled "Ecosilver". At the end I will link back to previous years just in case you want a quick look and see something there. But all of those pieces will need to be made. So, comment or PM me if you see something you like!

That's it. Below is a link to last year and you are welcome to order anything from that, prices the same as last year. I MIGHT, if I get the chance, put up the "Magic in the Winter Woods" necklace, depends if I get five minutes to myself to actually make it!

Almost there!

It's been like wading through treacle and an exercise in sheer gritted teeth bloody-mindedness, I can only work for about two hours before I'm so exhausted and stiff I can't see straight and have to go to bed, BUT, I almost have five pieces I'm really pleased with to go up for the mini jewellery post, just a few tweaks left to do today. I will probably make and add another pendant after that, but I'm not rushing with that as it's the winter wood one I was talking about and I'm not expecting anyone to buy it! Then I have two commissions to finish (now I have my jewellery making fingers back) and then I can start on any Christmas pressies I can afford to make.

I'm resolutely not looking at the pile of washing up, the laundry and the litter boxes needing changing, I can't make AND keep house, it's one or the other!

Well, that's irritating

I am waiting on supplies from two different companies to finish a few of the pieces I'm putting up for sale, but despite being ordered on SUNDAY, neither have turned up with today's post. I wasn't expecting them yesterday of course, but I WAS expecting them today. I am now cross. I know it's getting busy post-wise, but surely it's not that busy yet? Both these companies usually have things with me the next day. Grrrrr!

Upshot is, no jewellery sale post today. I have several different pieces all with last little bits to go on them that I can't finish. I give up, the post WILL be up one night this week, I am just at the mercy of other people at present.

AHHHHHHHHH

Posted on 2013.12.02 at 06:46
I woke up at 3am with the most amazing idea for a very special piece of jewellery, "Magic in a winter wood", a very large (4.5cm diameter) layered pendant-necklace with trees and stars and snow and spirals and a silver moon and a moongazing hare, hung from crackle quartz beads and silver chains and with a beautiful display box so it could be displayed as a piece of art when not being worn. I just drew it out and if I can pull it off it would be gorgeous. Only snag is that if I buy the silver and then mess it up or it doesn't sell, I'm stuffed, but dammit, this piece is begging to be made!

Quick jewellery update

Posted on 2013.11.30 at 13:09
If anyone is waiting for my jewellery post (I don't flatter myself anyone is, but still), it's going up Monday now instead of tonight. I haven't quite finished a couple of the things I wanted to put up and today I'm feeling like I'm wading through treacle*. Please bear with me, I'm almost there and please take a look when it finally goes up!

*Officially referred to by my friend who also has M.E and I as a 'wormy' day, ie 'I'm going out to eat worms', as in the song. We measure levels of ick by the number of worms. For example, today is a five worm day. Yep, we're odd.
