It's been a harrowing day. Rae gave herself until sunset to prepare and leave - no delaying or putting it off. This isn't her first experience with leaving Milliways, not expecting to ever see it again, and knows pretty well what to expect from herself.

But it's different. Then, she was leaving, fully expecting that she would die in battle against Bo or members of his gang. She was mentally saying goodbye to everyone and everything in her life, not just her friends and memories at Milliways. Holding each friend and place in her mind as she tried to seek closure without saying goodbye. Their lives would continue, simply without her as part of them.

This time Rae is leaving, fully expecting that there will be no bar to return to after things come to a head. Her life will continue, but without this part of it. Without the friends she has made here, who have had such an impact on her. This time, she can't face saying goodbye to them. No one is dying - her friends will continue their lives just as she will - but the walls between universes are just as thick as those between the living and the dead.

Possibly thicker.

The last thing she does before heading for the door is leave a fresh cinnamon roll with the bar for each of her friends. They'll know who made it.
