Ramblings of a wargaming general -an introduction

I decided to add a new part of my website. As due to time restrictions last few months were very poor when it comes to reviews, but every time and again I want to share some of my gaming wisdom with fellow gamers 😉  For this reason I created a completely new category of articles here, Ramblings of a wargaming general, where you can read some of my musings on different subjects such as army lists, tactics, opinions about different gaming systems etc.  So welcome and hope you will enjoy your stay 🙂

Real Life TM

So it looks like Real Life got in a way and I was unable to write my comprehensive review of new rulebook. Just to say that in general I am quite happy with it and it was definitely an improvement, especially on the graphic front. Instead of my own review, I am presenting you with a link to a video review by my mate from Grot Orderly blog:

definitely recommend his blog as well with battle reports, latest leaks etc: http://grotorderly.blogspot.co.uk/

15mm Cossack Rabble by Wargamer

Some time ago I bought models for By Fire and Sword cossack army made by Wargamer company from Poland. It took me some time to start assembling them, but it finally happened and some time later I finally got around to write this review. Continue reading

15mm Insurgents from Warsaw by just28mm

Recently I have been looking for more armed civilians to add to my Warsaw Uprising army for Flames of War. To my surprise whilst scrolling through Lead Adventure Forum (thoroughly recommended by the way!) I came across just28mm company from Poland that just started selling few of their sculpts. New Year, new plans

So, it has been pretty quiet here recently. Personal business took a lot of my time and other commitments made it difficult to update my blog, but now seems things return to normal again (hope so!). For a start there is quite a big annoucement! Timmy from Wargame News and Terrain blog ( check it out here http://wargameterrain.blogspot.be/  ) send me an offer of co-operation and I gladly accepted, so from now on my reviews will be also appearing there. This is indeed a very good start for Mighty Miniatures. There are a lot of reviews coming your way plus hopefully will start casting my own urban bases for Flames of War soon. See you soon guys!

Nice and simple kitbashed Slaanesh herald

I started toying with yet another demonic MSU list and decided I need a second herald of Slaanesh on steed. Since I didn’t just want to use a demonette and call her “herald” and already using so called “boobworm” with a rider as one herald, after quick look in my bits box, I decided to use steed of slaanesh with rider but with extra bits from witch elves kit. Result is very satisfying!

Something different- Beasts of War do Kings of War week and give away prizes.

Just started watching new videos  on Beasts of War as a part of their Kings of War weekend. Mantic seems to be slowly goriwing into an alternative to GW if you want to play fantasy. Whilst it started pretty much as an alternative miniatures manufacturer that you would use for Warhammer Fantasy, they are really going for it when it comes to rules and the background. Not entirely sold on the storyline, bit too cliche but there are some nice elements that I like (Celestials being quite similar in concept to ancient gods of the Greek Mythology). Anyway, if it sounds like your kind of thing, head to http://www.beastsofwar.com/kings-of-war/ and have a look yourself. One thing that Beasts of War is known for is prizes and this week is no different  😉

By Fire and Sword rulebook review

By Fire and Sword game had been going for quite some time in Poland, but never really reached beyond it’s borders till quite recently. On last Salute (2013) group around that game put a lot of effort into creating interest for this system with nice stall, intro games and most importantly rulebook in English. Continue reading

Skull cannon conversion- finished!

I am one of those people, that really want to use skull cannon in their demon armies (both for WFB and for 40k) but absolutely hate the ridiculous “Moped of Death” model made by GW. Nothing else left to do but make your own then! 🙂

I used gorebeast form the chariot kit, ogre tyrant, warpsword from soulgrinder kit (I shortened it a bit so it won’t look too ridiculous) and spike frame from chaos vehicle sprue plus some plastic chains that i am not even sure where they came from. I am quite happy with the final result. Painting will be slightly improved, but for now it was just done to a decent standard for the tournament I played last weekend. What do you guys think?
