Hello! Here’s your info post about the complete batch of Flashman.
There are quite a few updated episodes, so you can pick and choose what you want to download when you start the batch torrent.
1-30 + Movie: Updated for song lyrics. A lyric in the opening was romanized incorrectly. Also, the .mp4 versions of these episodes have slightly higher quality than their original release.
1-10: Updated for song lyrics. Fixed a grammar mistake in the ending song translation.
26, 29: Updated for mecha command grammar consistency with previous episodes.
There you have it. I keep saying I’m going to do better with song lyrics, but clearly I have some room for improvement there. Sorry everyone.
Keep reading for more information about my next project!
It’s finally here! The final batch of Choushinsei Flashman!
And what an ending it is! All 10 episodes of this batch are one cohesive story, so really, it’s a 10-part ending and it’s full of everything: drama, mystery, action, we’ve got it all!
It’s kind of hard to talk about these episodes without giving anything away, so I’ll keep it vague. In episode 40, we get a new aspect to the mystery of the abduction of the Tokimuras’ baby. Just when you thought they couldn’t add anything new, they throw this at you.
Stay tuned for the gender reveal party where they serve a sushi platter that has either pink or blue rice.
Dr. Tokimura still insists that it was a baby boy, so now it could be any one of our heroes, or someone else entirely, who knows. The scene where Luu is practicing calling her Mom in episode 41 is actually very cute though.
The bulk of this batch has to do with a major issue that begins happening to Flashman. We finally get the answer to what Baraki was telling Jin about before he died. Three words: The Anti-Flash Phenomenon.
Turns out Mag knew about it the whole time. Thanks Mag, you’re the best!
Essentially, their bodies are slowly becoming unsuited to living on Earth. So to rachet up the drama a little more, now Flashman has a time limit to defeat Mes. Can they do it in time?
Probably the best part of the batch is the infighting between the members of Mes. The villain storyline is top notch and even begins to steal the spotlight in a couple of episodes. I won’t spoil anything but…
As in all tokusatsu shows, the more explosions on screen at once, the more powerful the enemy.
Flashman probably has the best slow-burn ending of any Super Sentai series. Seriously. Watch it. It’s so good. Emotional too. Especially the last few scenes. They get me every time. It’s been a fun ride and I’m so happy everyone can cross another unfinished super sentai series off the list.
The last batch is included with the complete batch release. Head over to the Releases to get downloading! Enjoy the show!
These are the sorts of stupid things I think about while I watch tokusatsu shows. There’s a book in episode 40 that Kauler takes from Earth, and another character sits down and reads it. How? What about Gozma from Changeman? Are aliens just smarter than us and know random languages from other planets? Probably.
Well well well, here I am again with some new Flashman episodes! I got a couple of days free over the weekend and was able to finish the batch a little early, so hooray!
This batch is mostly one-offs and not too much plot, but several of them are very interesting episodes. We also get the answer to what’s happening to Flashman’s powers! Is it something to do with the vital information Baraki tried to tell Jin about? Guess what?! No!
Of course! Marbles!
Our heroes get a minor upgrade in episode 32, after Mag keeps messing around with their power prisms and screwing everything up.
The episode with Bun finding a mother figure is also really heartwarming. There’s also a great episode where everyone except Jin is evil. How do you know they’re evil? Eyeliner, of course.
I’m sorry but I can’t help but laugh at Bun wearing guyliner trying to be “evil”.
Episode 40 is probably my favorite of the batch. A higher-up in Mes is ready to betray the empire and enlists Jin to help her. Also, Jin and Kauler get chained together and fight. While chained to each other. In the rain. Slightly overdramatic. Half of the episode takes place here, though.
Where indeed, Dai. Is this an aquarium show? An olympic stadium? A high school? Someone forgot to clean the pool before filming.
Keflen and Kauler are at odds for the later ones too, which is so fun to watch. Keflen is a crafty one and Kauler keeps falling for his tactics. Even this happens.
Wanda’s like “I thought this shit only happened in anime.”
Coming up soon are the final 10 episodes, which have SUCH a good endgame. I can’t wait. Hope you’re excited too. Check on the Releases page and get downloading!
Well, the end of summer is here and suddenly a lot of people want a piece of my time. My spare time for subbing Flashman is unfortunately becoming slim for the moment.
I have episodes 31-35 finished and QC’ed, but haven’t started on anything after that.
With the work and personal commitments I have in view, I should be able to resume work the second week of September.
I’m REALLY hoping that I can get the whole series done and released before I go on vacation on September 25th. Fingers crossed. Stay tuned!
I mean, it just appears out of nowhere. I don’t see them bringing the Flash Hawks to every battle, so… where do those five smaller BFG’s come from? I’m guessing dimensional pockets. Prove me wrong.
Greetings! I’ve been busy this week doing more Flashman episodes for your enjoyment. I was worried I wouldn’t get this all done before the end of September, but I think I won’t have a problem now (hopefully).
This batch includes mostly one-offs after the HUGE story arc in the last batch. The last few episodes tie together, but aren’t one continuous story.
The best of the batch by far is episode 21. It’s honestly one of the best one-offs in the whole series. The story is great, the writing is on point, and the acting is entirely believable. It’s a must watch. I really enjoyed subbing it, because there are some really emotionally complex lines that are so much more than “Let’s go! OK!” or “Damn you! Kraagen!”
Brutal and I like it.
This batch also includes probably the most bizarre, gonzo episode in the whole series. Plus it’s a Luu episode, so that means awesome fight scenes! Everyone’s turning into pumpkins! That’s not even the craziest thing that happens! The whole episode is completely off the wall.
I feel like if this happened to me, I would probably be swearing more.
No, but like really weird stuff.
Wow, Iron Chef was really different in Japan.
Toward the end, Deus gets pretty annoyed that we’re 6 months in without a Flashman defeat. So what’s the answer? You get a power up! You get a power up! You all get a power up! Power ups mean new forms which include fun new attacks, like Wanda being able to stop time. And then this:
Nefel about to be crowned Prom Queen at the furry convention.
Our heroes’ storyline through these episodes involves certain members losing their Prism powers and attacks. Is it because of the weakness Baraki tried to tell Jin about in the last batch? The narrator asks us that three episodes in a row in the closing narration so… definitely maybe?
Releases are just a click away, so head on over and get going already!
Think about it. She searches for the enemy with the Rolling Vulcan’s scope. She calls for the Cosmo Sword. If Mes takes her out, Flashman is in deep shit.
Hi! Here’s some more Flashman for your brain to enjoy. This batch is some whoa. This batch is some great. This batch of 10 episodes has a 5 episode story arc! You know I love me some multi-part plots.
We start with a few one-offs, most of which are pretty well done. My favorite is the one with Luu and the Beast Warrior who imprints on her after it hatches. It’s an intriguing story, even if the episode is completely off the wall. The Beast Warrior becomes strong enough to launch a major attack only after Garus kisses it on the mouth. No, seriously.
Pucker up, buttercup.
Then we get into the real meat of this batch, the long story arc in episodes 15-19. We get the introduction of the Dark Hunter, Sā Kauler, plus his Alien Hunter buddies. He’s been wandering the universe for who knows how long catching specimens for Lā Deus to experiment on. However! When he gets to Earth, he’s kind of over that life, and he decides he’s going to try something new.
It’s new to him at least. It’s not new to literally any other tokusatsu villain in any series.
He’s cold and brooding and a cool new character who we don’t get to know a whole lot about yet. We also meet Lē Baraki, a former warrior for Mes who changed sides after being saved by the legendary Flashian warrior Titan 100 years ago. He fled from Mes and hid on Earth and has something to tell Flashman. Something that is the foreshadow to the endgame. In episode 19. Of 50. That’s some damn good series writing.
I’m not going to spoil it. But you could, you know, read about it online anywhere. If you wanted to.
Baraki also brings a little gift with him, which is perfect timing because Flash King has… a problem. We get a new robo! The first secondary robo in any super sentai series! Baraki tells the team that Titan sent him to Earth with this tractor trailer thingy 100 years ago. Apparently cars were not invented by Henry Ford, but the Flashians. Please change all textbooks. The tractor trailer turns into said robo, of course. The robot is a bouncing, nimble little thing with one unfortunate attack.
This attack name might be more awkward than Sailor Star Maker’s “Star Gentle Uterus” in Sailormoon.
These 5 episodes were cut up into the second movie for Flashman, which I will not be subbing because you can just watch the whole thing right here. Oh! I almost forgot! I got an answer to my last post about what Kraagen’s deal is after it shrinks.
Sweet, sweet answers.
Download links are on the Releases page as per usual. Please to enjoy!
No, really, alien abduction is mentioned before the title screen even comes up.
Well hello! Here is the first batch of Choushinsei Flashman, or Supernova Flashman, the 1986 Super Sentai series. Ah yes, the 20 minute Showa super sentai (Dynaman-Liveman). The pacing, the plots, the action, the music. Certainly a pinnacle in the entire tokusatsu genre.
With the first 3 episodes, we get the foundation of the overall series plot, as well as some back story into how our heroes got their powers. Flashman is definitely a lighter series than others, despite the fact that it’s all about alien abduction and genetic modification.
Certainly lighter than “I almost died and became a cyborg” or “you killed my parents”, etc.
I really enjoy the older super sentai shows because you can pretty easily tell who among the actors can actually fight, and there’s usually two, if not more. In the 90’s and later, it’s usually one or even zero. In Flashman, it’s definitely Dai and Luu.
Dai after his trip to the sketchy pawn shop downtown.
The monster designs for Mes’ Beast Warriors are weird as hell and I really like them, although they’re not really creepy like some Amemiya designed monsters from the Metal Hero shows. Mes’ storyline evolves really slowly through these first few episodes. They’re basically like “Hi, you have animals? We want them. Why? Experiments.”
I have several questions about Kraagen, though. Is it a new Kraagen each time? If it’s not, how does it grow back to giant size each week? Why does it giggle and scurry away after it enlarges the monster?
We also get the introduction of Flash King, the team’s giant robo. It’s a really great design, and the first more modern looking robo in my opionion, although they kept the colors of the earlier series (mostly blue with some red). To this day, though, I’m not sure if I understand how the pieces fit together to make the robo. Are the jets the arms and the legs? I should see if I can buy the toys somewhere so I can visualize it.
Wtf is happening here?
Some translation notes. I kept the enemy’s name as “Mes” because it’s based off a dutch loanword for “scalpel” (get it, because they do experiments), and it’s spelled “mes” in dutch. Also, for the main enemy characters, I’m putting macrons on the vowels to show that they’re elongated without using extra letters (ie. Lā Deus, Lē Nefel, etc.).
The movie is included in this batch because it was released the same day as episode 3. It’s not really important to the plot, but it’s fun and it’s in 720p HD, so that’s nice.
