Annual review of the Universal Code of Conduct and Enforcement Guidelines

[edit]

I am writing to you to let you know the annual review period for the Universal Code of Conduct and Enforcement Guidelines is open now. You can make suggestions for changes through 9 February 2026. This is the first step of several to be taken for the annual review. Read more information and find a conversation to join on the UCoC page on Meta.

The Universal Code of Conduct Coordinating Committee (U4C) is a global group dedicated to providing an equitable and consistent implementation of the UCoC. This annual review was planned and implemented by the U4C. For more information and the responsibilities of the U4C, you may review the U4C Charter.

Please share this information with other members in your community wherever else might be appropriate.

-- In cooperation with the U4C, Keegan (WMF) (talk)

Request for Korean translation: Centralnotice-wikiloveslove2020-text

[edit]

Request to create a page titled MediaWiki:Centralnotice-wikiloveslove2020-text/ko

The one-line sentence you want is:

현지 문화재를 촬영하고, 위키백과를 도와 상을 획득하세요!

YeBoy371 (talk) 12:44, 5 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Why would you want that on a message talk page, are you wanting to actually set the message? — xaosflux Talk 13:49, 5 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
I originally wanted to ask for additional translations on MediaWiki talk, but the note at the top said that that namespace has few viewers and that I should ask on a place like page "Meta:Babel" instead, so I'm asking here. YeBoy371 (talk) 00:28, 6 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
So do you want us to add that translated text to the actual message, or do you just want to have a discussion about it? — xaosflux Talk 17:06, 7 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
Please add a message YeBoy371 (talk) 02:30, 8 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
That page is for a 6 year old banner, from what I can tell it is not in use anymore, and doesn't seem to be set up for translations. What makes you think that is the page you need? — xaosflux Talk 10:34, 11 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Proposal: Add a talk section to the Meta Wiki mobile view

[edit]

I am requesting that a link to the talk page be added to mobile view in Meta Wiki to ease navigation. I believe this change will be beneficial so that users can navigate better in mobile view. Interstellarity (talk) 15:27, 9 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

  1. Support as proposer. Interstellarity (talk) 15:27, 9 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
I couldn’t understand the proposal, are you talking about the ’Add topic' in talk page? 🪶-TΛNBIRUZZΛMΛN (💬) 15:57, 9 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Tanbiruzzaman I'm talking about a talk button on the content page. Interstellarity (talk) 00:09, 10 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
It's weird that you cannot see the 'Discussion' button. 🪶-TΛNBIRUZZΛMΛN (💬) 02:53, 10 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
In desktop view, yes, in mobile view, no. Interstellarity (talk) 11:03, 10 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Interstellarity, for some reason I can see a 'Discussion' button in mobile view. 🪶-TΛNBIRUZZΛMΛN (💬) 20:09, 13 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
Are you on desktop or mobile? On desktop, it's visible, but on mobile, it's not. Interstellarity (talk) 22:03, 15 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hello! I am a new translation admin and I have a question. What banner-protect permission means? Where can I use the permission? Thank you! Julius 12345 (talk) 10:22, 15 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

It is used automatically when translating some central notice banners. (Protect translatable messages handled by the Translate extension and included in CentralNotice banners ). — xaosflux Talk 12:00, 15 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
Okay, thanks for info. Julius 12345 (talk) 12:12, 15 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
