Happy birthday, Wikipedia!
Wikipedia's global virtual birthday party is available to watch back on YouTube and Wikimedia Commons.
The celebration lineup included

- A kickoff countdown: A 15-minute pre-party, starting at 15:45 UTC, with Wikipedia trivia and birthday wishes from around the globe.
- A tour through 25 years of collaboration at its best: Watch how the 300+ language Wikipedias have grown since Wikipedia was born a quarter-century ago with the simple phrase "Hello, World!"
- An ode to the talk page: Honoring the debates, detours, and consensus-building that make Wikipedia... Wikipedia.
- Musical performances: Pieces created with Wikipedia and Wikimedia content, composed for the editors powering the projects.
- Wikipedia games: A chance to test your knowledge to win freshly minted, special-edition Wikipedia 25 merch.
- Spotlights on Wikipedians everywhere: Stories from across regions and generations.
- Special guest appearances: Because every great birthday needs a few unexpected cameos and some longtime favorites.
Cake and fashion photos and trivia

- Wikicake and wikifashion photos. Thank you for sending in your wikicake and wikifashion photos by January 11! We will show them during the party!
- Send in trivia to stump Jimmy! Thank you to those of you who sent in your trivia by January 4! We are working to incorporate as much trivia as possible into the show!
Live interpretation
[edit]The party will be live interpreted into Arabic, Chinese, French, Portuguese, and Spanish.
How to join
[edit]The party streamed on the Wikimedia Foundation website in six languages – Arabic, Chinese, French, English, Portuguese and Spanish.
Viewers also had the option of streaming on Wikipedia’s YouTube channel, though that channel was only available in English.
Both channels will have a chat and opportunities to win prizes!
