Q&A

Welcome to Codidact Meta!

Codidact Meta is the "town hall" (meta-discussion site) for the Codidact community network and the Codidact software. Whether you have bug reports or feature requests, support questions or rule discussions that touch the whole network – this is the site for you.

Questions fitting more than one community

I have a question that blends topics of more than one community. the question could be separated into multiples and asked individually to each corresponding community thereby piecemealing an overall solution, but I am curious if it could be asked as a whole and parts given attribution appropriately.

Is there a way to cross community bounds with questions? Would an open ended discussion be a better fit? Is this idea even in scope?

You can ask a question anywhere it is on topic. If it would be on topic on multiple sites, then you get to choose. However, it would generally be good to customize the question to the site it is actually asked on.

If you don't get a satisfactory answer after a reasonable time, then you can ask on a different site, customized to that site.

If you do ask essentially the same question on multiple sites, you really should link each question to the others. That makes all the information more easily accessible in the future, and the volunteers that answer the questions can see what has already been answered and what is still missing.
