Q&A

Welcome to Codidact Meta!

Codidact Meta is the "town hall" (meta-discussion site) for the Codidact community network and the Codidact software. Whether you have bug reports or feature requests, support questions or rule discussions that touch the whole network – this is the site for you.

Tutorials and readings

Sometimes I'm looking for tutorials or readings.

There are a lot of tutorials and readings on the net, and that is part of the problem, as most don't match what I was looking for.

On "Some other sitE" that type of questions would be close because they are inherently opinion based.

For example, when learning a programming language, most tutorials assume the reader is new to programming as such, carrying an overhead of text dedicated not on the language but on programming.

Are you suggesting listing or hosting?

Do you want Codidact communities to allow questions asking for recommendations of existing tutorials, or to have a way to host tutorials?

Recommending tutorials

For a specific community, you could start a discussion on their local Meta about whether questions asking for recommendations are on topic. That probably can't be decided here on main Meta because each community decides its own rules. This may involve allowing recommendations but only in their own separate category.

For example, Outdoors Codidact has a Gear Recommendations category.

Hosting tutorials

For hosting new tutorials rather than linking to existing ones, you could propose a new tutorials category for a specific community.

For example, Electrical Engineering Codidact has a Papers category.
