Welcome to Codidact Meta!

Codidact Meta is the "town hall" (meta-discussion site) for the Codidact community network and the Codidact software. Whether you have bug reports or feature requests, support questions or rule discussions that touch the whole network – this is the site for you.

I encountered the following error while attempting to post an answer on Codidact:

It's not your fault.

This error has been logged. We even look at them sometimes.

You can also report this on Meta to help us keep track of what's going wrong — quote error ID c524bf44-4a29-44a6-86ac-b22e1997d9ab.

Attempting to repost it worked but just reporting it in case there's some bug.

Wow, I've never seen this one before. It appears that you hit a deadlock in the database. If this happens again please let us know; right now I'm going to assume it was a transient error, but I'm also raising this with the dev team to see if we have better internal logs about what happened. (The database presumably does its own logging, in addition to what our application logs.)
