"Related posts" does not examine links in comments

"Draft loaded. You had edited this before but haven't saved it. We loaded the edits for you." has a bunch of related posts linked in its first comment thread, but the posts don't appear in the sidebar in the special green "Related Posts" box.

Is that intentional, accidental, or just planned-but-not-implemented?

It's neither of those - at the moment the Related Posts feature only displays duplicates. We're open to expanding it, but it's not trivial. Some discussion here about what exactly we want to see in it would be a really good first step.

I'd like to see us have human-driven related posts -- some way for people to suggest connections (not duplicate but if you're reading this you might also want to read that), with some sort of lightweight community review. This needs to be fleshed out, obviously.
