Provide standardised report reasons for comments.

When I wanted to report comments/thread/11164#comment-27652 as spam, I needed to enter a custom reason:

Instead, providing common reasons with labelled check or radio boxes (ideally, with the option to enter custom context alongside them) would mean less time spent typing when users need to report spam, and easier statistical analysis for forum operators.

I am not sure if it is tracked already, but yes, we definitely should provide standard reasons for comment flagging. It's a bit rudimemtary at this point, but there is no reason for us not to expand it. Had the exact same thought as you when flagging that comment :)

Agreed. When we added comment flags, we didn't yet have comment threads and other comments improvements, and adding a modal there had some problem I no longer recall. But the UI has changed a lot since then and it sure seems like it should be possible to offer some standard flag reasons for comments like we already do for posts. Thanks for raising this.

Oleg Valter‭ and Monica Cellio‭, thank you. If you want me to file an FR on GitHub, I don't mind doing so. Otherwise, if you've an open PR or issue, please link it! 1

We go through meta posts and create GitHub issues for them, linking to the meta post so we know what to update with status tags when it's done. You're welcome to file a feature request if you like (we can be a little slow with this I'm afraid) but it's not necessary. Thanks.
