I miss her.
Today would've been Terah's 22nd birthday. I really miss her. Especially recently.
Anyone who's reading this, if you consider yourself my friend, I just want to let you know how much you all mean to me. I know I don't say it often, or ever really, but you never know when someone's gonna leave your life for good. And I didn't want to miss an opportunity to tell everyone that. And here's a song for Terah.

I Miss YouCollapse )

R.I.P 11/9/83 - 5/12/05
BALDWIN, Terah 21, of Springfield died on Wednesday, May 12, 2005 in her residence at the Ohio University in Athens. She was born on November 9, 1983 in Springfield the daughter of Jay E. Baldwin and Traci (Boyer) Jones. Terah was one of the few people you could meet once and never forget. She was best friends with everyone she knew, and held in her, the most beautiful yet troubled soul. Every memory that holds her smile, contains the sunshine of the heart. She put more passion into every aspect of life, than most could ever understand. Terah took tremendous pride in her writing and scholastic achievement. She was a senior at Ohio University majoring in Sociology and Pre Law, with minors in English and Psychology. She was to be inducted on May 21st into the ALPHA KAPPA DELTA International Honor Society of Sociology. She apprenticed under Smith and West Attorneys and enjoyed working with Missy and Kathy. Terah graduated from North High School, class of 2001 with honors. While at North High she was inducted into the National Honors Society in 2001, placed 2nd in the Martin Luther King Essay contest, received the Presidents Education Awards Program for outstanding academic excellence, and several outstanding student awards in recognition of her outstanding achievement. Before attending North High, Terah was a student at Northwestern where she played Saxophone in the Marching band, Jazz Band and Symphonic Band and won many Young Authors awards. Terah was an accomplished writer who had several poems published and was presented the Editors Choice Award by the International Library of Poetry, three times. She had more poems published than she could keep track of. She took great pride in being a "Big Gun" in the euchre mafia. She loved books, music, and movies, and had a knack for finding beauty in everyday life. She loved things that sparkled. Animals seemed to regard her as their Queen and she loved all of them, big or small, as only the noblest monarchs knew how. Terah missed her father tremendously and thought about him everyday. They can now be together again. She is survived by her mother, Traci Jones and Jeremy Robinson of Springfield, half sister, Erica Baldwin of Urbana, maternal grandmother, Judy Maynard, maternal grandparents, Jack and Lorraine Boyer, paternal grandfather, Jim Baldwin, aunts and uncles: Barb and Tom Dotson of Springfield, Jim and Peggy Baldwin of North Carolina, Kim and Kevin Roddy of Springfield, and Leslie Conley of Springfield; cousins: Alex, special cousin and best friend, Jessica, Laura, Tommy, Amy, and Craig, and boyfriend and best friend, Wudi Woodrow, best friends and roommates, Brian and Jade, special friends Josh, Jason, and Vinny. She was preceded in death by her father, Jay, paternal grandmother, Nancy, maternal great grandmother, Maxine Ricketts, and uncle, Mike Conley. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2005 from 5-8 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME where the service will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Rick Clos officiating. Inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family in Fletcher Chapel Cemetery. Hopefully she finds in death, the solace she couldn't find in life. She will be forever missed.

The rules:

1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."

2. I will respond by asking you five questions. I get to pick the questions.

3. You will update your LJ with the answers to the questions (or just reply in my LJ).

4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.

5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

Now, my answers to Terah's interview questions:

1. If you could choose your fate when you die but have only two choices: one choice in which you go to heaven, but you are the only person there, or one in which you go to hell, but there are people you know there, which would you choose? (Assume that this is true.)

Hmmm, interesting. I suppose this I'd have to say Heaven. I'm a solitary person by nature, so that's not really a big deal. And the basic idea of Heaven is eternal paradise, so I think that'd keep me distracted enough not to notice the lack of people.

2. When you were little, what were some of the things you wanted to be "when you grew up"? What do you think of those now?

How little? Only thing I can really remember wanting to be is an Astronaut. And that's an ambition that fell by the wayside long ago. I still respect those who do it, but it's definitely not my cup of tea these days.

3. Do you have any obsessions or fetishes? What are they?

Not to speak of. When I find myself initially attracted to someone of the opposite sex I have a tendency to obsess over them. But that's really got more to do with me and my personal insecurities than anything else. And as far as fetishes go, I'm pretty vanilla when it comes to that area (at least as far as personal preferences go), but I'll try most things at least once.

4. You have three months left to live, and a foundation has given you one million dollars. What do you do?

Pay off all my family's debts. Then throw a big ass party with whatever's left.

5. What one material item (that you own) is most precious to you? Why?

A teddy bear. I've had it since I was 3 or 4. My dad gave him to me when I was in the hospital for reason I won't get into here (it's a whole different story entirely). It's about the only thing I own that I've kept for any real length of time. Other than that I don't really get attached to material things. After all, in the end, it's just stuff.

Ok, so I actually got scolded for not updating last week. Not gonna make the same mistake again. So what's new in my life. Well not a whole hell of a lot. Been watching a lot of movies (Troy:Good, Van Helsing:Not so Much). Going down to the bars too. It's kinda nice down there with all the students leaving, quiet almost. Been dealing with my multitude of personal issues as they come up. Had my good days, had my bad. Kinda sun burned right now, hoping it'll fade in a day or so. Almost have full use of my hand back. Tried to spar with it fucked up the other day, I could toss out shots, but not pull them. And on that note, I found a practice with some kids out here. For the most part they're all kids who don't know what they're doing, but at the very least it gives me someone to hit. Oh, and I finally up and joined the rest of the 20th century and got a cell phone. Damn shame it's the 21st century. Jay is convinced that this, combined with Bob Dylan's peddling of womens underwear, is a sure sign of the Apocalypse. But what does he know?

Take the quiz: "Which Random Irish Gaelic Phrase Are You? "

Pog mo thoin
Pog mo thoin - 'Kiss my ass.'You're one tough bastard, and if anyone doesn't like it, they can kiss your ass. You enjoy fighting and causing grievous bodily harm. Hey! What are you lookin' at, punk?

Personally, I think I'm just grumpy. And I bet you all were expecting the drunk phrase, weren't you? Makes me wonder, am I the drunk, or angry young man? Or both?

ok, so I guess I've been updating regularly on mondays, give or take, so I might as well keep it up. Been trying my best to help out my friends, and be supportive when I can. I hope it's been helping. Other than that, there's nothing really to tell. Look at that blissfully short, and almost no complaining.
