In the research, the concept of “landscape” evaluated as a relation between artist and nature, and it related with the Land Art that uses earth as object and space of art in this evaluation. It can be stated that “landscape” is a concept coming from painting tradition. In the tradition of painting, the “landscape” is a section of nature which has become the object of eye. When it comes to Land Art, nature has become the place where the artist is directly active. In Land Art, all elements of earth that have become objects of art transformed into a landscape with the events of artist. These landscapes, which are formed by the marking of nature, can be seen Land Art work, which consist of performances and installations. Land Art contains artists such as Richard Long, Robert Smithson, Michael Heizer, Walter De Maria and Dennis Oppenheim. These artists, using the nature conditions for produced art works with different understandings such as the traces of a performance in nature, the reorganization of nature objects, or improves elements of nature. All these forms created new areas of experience for the artist, viewer and gallery spaces. Land Art brought back the artist and nature relation in a different way. In research, stated to why Conceptual Art is called “conceptual” and shown why Conceptual Art works are shaped as analytical propositions. It is possible say that Conceptual Art begun by with Sol LeWitt’s “Paragraphs on Conceptual Art” published in 1967. Conceptual Art contains artists such as Sol LeWitt, Joseph Kosuth, Lawrence Weiner, Bernar Venet, Douglas Huebler, Robert Barry, Michael Baldwin, Terry Atkinson and Ian Burn. It is also necessary to add The Definition of Art Group to this collection. Conceptual Art works are result of intellectual concerns, not a plastic concerns. In this context, the foundations of Conceptual Art can be brought back to Marcel Duchamp’s “Ready-made”s which based on thought in art. So that by Joseph Kosuth, art has become completely conceptual after Duchamp. The main reason why Conceptual Art is referred to as “conceptual” is based on the relation art activity and the “art” concept. According to conceptual art, art activity is the investigation of the concept of art, questioning its nature. In this context, it can be said that the activity of Conceptual Art is an activity to understand the conditions of art. The most general feature of the artists mentioned within the Conceptual Art is the fulfilment of art activity as art. In this context, Conceptual Art works can be considered as analytical, in other word tautological. That is why Joseph Kosuth proposed a definition like “art is the definition of art.” According the Joseph Kosuth, artistic proposals, like analytical proposals, do not depend on any presuppositions. As a result, Conceptual Art can be defined as an activity to understand the conditions of art.
