	CA's Secretary of State election results website is down. I keep getting "This website is temporarily unavailable. Please check back later. Unfortunately there were no suitable nodes available to serve this request." or "Due to an extremely high volume of traffic, the page you have requested is temporarily unavailable. We apologize for the inconvenience, please try your request again shortly." How... disappointing... in such a technology rich state. And we just reelected Bowen why? 	Prop 8
	The radio this morning was saying that it's too close to call; there are quite a few absentee ballots still to count. Unfortunately, it still looks to me like we will be enshrining exclusionary language in California's state constitution. I'm happy about Obama's win last night. I'm sad that my state doesn't understand that it's never good to make someone a "them" and that it's okay to ban this, they're not us. ETA: NPR was stating that there's still 2 million absentee ballots to count, and Prop 8 only has a 400,000 vote lead. We'll see. I'm not optimistic. Tags: elections, politics Mood: unsure

	Voting has happened. My precinct had record lines for that early in the day (there was actually a wait!), but we'll see if that continues. BF will be voting mid-morning. And the average age of poll workers here have dropped by at least 20 years. Yay for young people volunteering! If you haven't already, go and vote. If you have, great! Either way, I leave you with depictions of our candidates as sugar cookie sheep, with somewhat pithy sayings. Vote for the most edible!
