Sleepy...but in a good way

Friday. Did I do anything Friday? I got out of work early. I got annoyed at people who needed things to be posted immediately before I left, but didn't have the information ready yet. Oh, well. I guess I'll post it on Tuesday when I get back. Friday night we...cleaned the basement, I think. Never mind, we watched the premier of So You Think You Can Dance. Which I highly recommend if you like watching dancing. I need to remind my darling husband that the show is actually on Wednesday, not Thursday and the next one is 2 hours. (Consider yourself reminded).

Saturday. It was hot. Very hot. I dragged thastygliax out of bed early... Actually, he kicked me out of bed early, so he could keep sleeping and I could take care of the kids. But he got up around 9, and I dragged him and the munchkins out to the playground. It was already nearly 80 then. So the kids played and swinged a lot. Lots and lots of swinging. Then we came home. And I went downstairs and cleaned the basement some more. (Are you sensing a theme?) We decided we needed to go shopping and I really didn't want to cook since it was so hot, so we went off to TGIFridays for dinner. Which worked surprisingly well. The munchkins were reasonably well behaved until they got tired and cranky. Our waiter was a little brain dead, but very friendly. Unfortunately, we failed to take into account the fact that Costco closes at 6. Doh! So, we drove back. It's probably just as well, since we got home about bed time for munchkins anyway. They went to bed and we cleaned the basement. :)

Sunday. I got up pretty early and went grocery shopping for those things that we hadn't gotten yesterday. I failed to get cheese, however, which we should probably get tonight. I made cucumber soup, which people seemed to like. I forgot to bring it for lunch today though. *sigh* I also made pasta salad, which needs tuna fish, but otherwise is pretty tasty. We collected a keshwyn and slathered sun screen over all of us. splurby, dpierkowski and mindways arrived and we watched them slater while we finished getting ready to move out. Applying liberally was the catch word of the day. And we all ran off to the Arboretum. And it was lovely. Warm, but not too hot. Nice breeze. Good shade. Hyper kids. Playing fetch with my children is extremely entertaining. I forget the fun you can have with picnics. Sun + munchkins meant that we only stayed for a couple of hours. But everyone was tired and we all went our separate ways. We went home and napped. thastygliax ran off to game and within 5 minutes of him leaving, Miss Munchkins was conked out. The Owl woke up after a couple of hours, but went to sleep in my arms when I went to get him. There was much sleeping involved. I took the kids out at 7 to run off some steam with the neighbors. Then baths and bed. They conked out pretty fast. I watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and waited for thastygliax, but he came home late late late.

Monday. I was tired and very very grouchy. I got up at 9, went back to bed at 10 because I was not fit company for anyone, let along two small munchkins, and woke up for good at 12:30. I think I needed that. Mr. Munchkin went up for a nap as did thastygliax and I stayed up with Miss Munchkin, who failed to actually nap all day. It got pretty hot and I retreated to the basement to do some more work after thastygliax got up again. He took the kids out to run around and I did still more basement work. They got baths and beds (after stripping both their beds and generally not going to sleep) and we did even more basement cleanup.

It's starting to look like it might be liveable again. We're taking the opportunity to reorganize (which means that it's taking longer), though we'd need to move everything anyway so we could mop underneath everything. Hopefully we'll be able to move everything out of one section so we can put the carpet down soon. And we're going to take the opportunity to toss even more stuff out (hopefully). And maybe, just maybe, I'll be able to actually do DDR in my basement again by the end of next month. *sigh* I really need to shift my sleep schedule so I can take advantage of that. Some day when I have a life again, or something.

WOOHOO!!! And I just got my official grade from my class. I currently have a 4.0. We'll see how long that lasts. :) Now I can get reimbursed for the class and everything will be happy!

*sniffle*

This is so depressing.

We are currently going through piles of books in our basement and throwing out most of them. Out of the first 200 or so, we kept about 10. It's just heartbreaking. We're keeping track of everything in Library Thing, using tags to keep track of everything damaged and/or discarded.

(ETA: The replace list is stuff that we need to replace sooner rather than later. Everything on that list is something we would like to have.)

But it's hard. And it's only going to get harder.

I think we need to stop for the night. My nose is getting cold.

Your blog looks nice, even so it would be far better if you’ll be able to use lighter colors too as a professional design. This will make sure that a lot more readers come to check it…
