MemPalace Cloud is an AI memory tool — sometimes called a "Mem Palace" for AI. We run the open-source MemPalace engine for you so your AI tools (Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex CLI, Cursor, ChatGPT, and Claude.ai) can remember facts, decisions, and context across sessions — without you having to self-host ChromaDB, Python, and embedding models.
What is a MemPalace skill?
A MemPalace skill is a configuration file that teaches your AI tool how to use memory effectively. It tells Claude Code, Cursor, or ChatGPT when to save knowledge, how to search memories, and how to structure what it learns. Install your MemPalace skill in under two minutes — just paste your MCP URL and import the skill pack.
How is this different from ChatGPT Memory or Claude Projects?
Two ways. First: it works across tools. Claude remembers what ChatGPT learned, Cursor remembers what you told Claude Desktop — because memory lives in one shared service, not in each vendor's silo. Second: your data stays yours. EU-hosted, open-source engine, no vendor lock-in.
Why should I trust you with my AI memories?
Because you can walk away at any time. The engine is open source. If MemPalace Cloud disappears tomorrow, you can self-host the same stack. All data is stored in Nürnberg, Germany and never shared with third parties.
What actually gets stored?
Whatever the LLM decides is worth remembering — facts about your projects, decisions you've made, lessons learned from bugs, preferences for how you work. You see every capture in your Inbox first and can approve, edit, or reject before it becomes permanent. Nothing goes into long-term memory silently.
What if I want to delete something?
You can delete any individual memory any time from the Memory Browser. You can also delete your entire account, which erases all data within 30 days. The one thing we don't do is auto-delete things on you — that's the core promise of the product.
Does it work with ChatGPT and Gemini?
ChatGPT works today — enable Developer Mode in Settings → Apps (requires Teams, Pro, or Enterprise; Web and Desktop only), add a connector, and point it at our MCP server. Claude.ai also connects natively via custom connectors on all plans. Gemini does not support custom MCP servers in the consumer web app yet.
Is there a free tier?
Yes. Free includes 200 memories, one connected tool, and 30 days of searchable history. Good enough to try the product and feel the difference. Upgrade to Pro (€10/month) or Power (€15/month) when you need more.
What about my Free memories if I hit the 200 limit?
They're never deleted — just not searchable until you upgrade. When you upgrade to Pro, every archived memory instantly comes back into search. The "we never forget" promise applies at every tier.
What happens to my data if you go out of business?
The engine is open source. We publish our infrastructure setup, the mempalace soft-fork we use, and the deployment scripts. We also publish a 'project wind-down' runbook as part of our commitment to the community.
How do I use MemPalace with Claude Code?
Run 'claude mcp add mempalace-cloud' and paste your MCP URL from the dashboard. Import the skill pack. That's it — Claude Code MemPalace memory works on the next prompt. Claude remembers what you discussed yesterday, last week, or last month.
Are you affiliated with the MemPalace open-source project?
Not officially. MemPalace Cloud is a community-hosted service for the open-source MemPalace project by Milla Jovovich and Ben Sigman. The upstream engine code is MIT-licensed. If the upstream authors explicitly endorse us in the future, we'll update this.
