Feedback on her art can be left here! Summary: Everyone thought that when the 60's ended, so did the Beatles. But in 1971 they turned up again... the muggles just didn't know it.
Title: As We Grow Fandom: Marvel/DC Characters: Dick Grayson and Bucky Barnes, with appearances by Bruce Wayne and Steve Rogers Rating: PG-13 (there's a war; it could scare children) Length: 3,949 words Summary: Two boys, two different sets of adventures, and yet so similar in the end. Notes: The world needs more Barnes and Grayson adventures.
I wanted to do something productive today, but have realised that I really need to sit down and finish my hp_summergen assignment. I still have plenty of time to get it done, but I do need to turn my focus towards it. As such, I figure I won't be doing much else until it's done so I may as well look back through fic I've written and update my LJ with some.
And since this is the project I've been investing most of my effort into, I thought why not post the next installment (edited since it was first written so the ending doesn't seem quite so... train of consciousness or whatever). And, for the love of... well... anything... I am still desperately trying to come up with a better title!

Nothing special, really. I blame it all on maverick0324.
Title: Time And Relative Dimensions In Space Author: Melisus the Wee (melisus) Rating: G Word Count: 7, 971 words Summary: With Rose off at an Abba concert, the Doctor picks up a new companion to help him save Christmas from an invading force of alien changelings. Notes: Quite obviously based on the Attack of the Graske game. Done all in good fun. Disclaimer: Because it's all necessary, I don't own any part of Doctor Who. Sad, isn't it?
“After playing that game [Attack of the Graske], I’ve decided that my implausible dream in life is to be the Doctor’s companion. We’d have a kick ass time.”
I'm still looking for feedback on my first 100quills feedback, so I'm not making this next fic public yet or submitting it to the community. However, if you were curious, friends list, about how this overall serial fic would work, here's the letter I wrote a couple days ago. Now, I have a general timeline and plot spread out, and I have a rough map of the routes Remus takes on his travels. As such, his location in this fic is a little towards the end of his journies. As such, he's a little more familiar with The Girl, been on the road for several years, and so therefore has gradually given her details of his past and his persona (eventually the werewolf topic comes up, and The Girl is aware of his connection to the Potters and Sirius Black). I just haven't (obviously) written all the letters leading up to this point and only wrote this one because the inspiration hit me and I thought it was too good to pass up.
Obviously, the stories in chronological order won't follow the exact list of prompts (ex. 1... 2... etc.) so I'll probably have to post a link with my prompt chart to a list of the fics in ideal chronological reading order. But that's something to deal with when I start submitting to 100quills.
So, just like with the first fic, I'd really appreciate some feedback. What you like about the fic, and/or don't like about it.
Title: Evangeline and Gabriel Author: Melisus the Wee (melisus) Rating: G Prompt Set: 50.4 Prompt: 28. Lovers Word Count: 1,694 words Summary: Remus' travels bring him to the Canadian Bay of Fundy, where, amongst the locals, he hears of a legend which forces him to consider his past. Notes: This fic contains the Acadian story of Evangeline as told to me by my Canadian History professor during Wednesday's lecture. I didn't make it up, and some of you may have heard different versions... but like any word-of-mouth story, it's subject to change.
I said I wouldn't post anything for 100quills until I'd written at least one letter to go along with the opening of the story. Surprisingly enough, however, while I was working on Remus' first letter, I was given an absolutely wonderful creative jolt in CANADIAN HISTORY class of all things. I wrote that letter yesterday and so I think I'm about ready to start posting some fic.
You'll notice this entry is friends-locked. That's because while I looked over and edited the fic, and passed it on to calsita for a second opinion (hopefully some quality control) I'm still not too sure about this. I'm not worried about The Girl coming across as a Mary-Sue; I'm confident I avoided that roadblock. What I'm concerned about is that the writing seems a little bland and unimpressive; that in my effort and determination to ensure that a one-shot character did not follow down the path of Mary-Suedom that the fic installment has turned rather mundane.
So, more than ever, I really need some feedback. You think it's a good start to a larger fic? Tell me why. You think it's rough around the edges? Tell me why. You believe it to be a complete load of vomit on the screen? Tell me why. If things seem okay, then I'll move on with posting to 100quills and get the next installment of the fic up and posted.
As for an overall title I'm not entirely sure what to give it yet. Something along the lines of "Letters from a Stranger" or "Letters to a Stranger" seem appealing to me... but if I wanted to get old and fancy "The Lupin Correspondence" might work too. I don't really know.
Title: The Girl Author: Melisus the Wee (melisus) Rating: G Prompt Set: 50.4 Prompt: 03. Unexpected Word Count: 1,708 words Summary: Remus Lupin offers a young store clerk an escape from the mundane... in a rather unexpected manner. Warnings: Beware the (possibly) idle chit chat. Notes: I find it should be rather self-explanatory, but this is told from the point of view of The Girl. It takes place in early November 1981, shortly after the first demise of Voldemort.
I've been debating doing yet another f-locked entry about my day but am still feeling really down so... I figured I wouldn't bother flooding you all again. But thanks to everyone who read, commented, and listened/councilled on all that happened. Here's hoping next Wednesday goes better, yes?
Second item on the agenda. There's a new fandom community in town known as the Fandom Psychiatrist (fandom_psych) where ALL fandoms are open for discussion involving fan behaviour, etc. The current hot topic? Plagarism in fanart and fanfic.
Finally, I bring you more veil!fic.

Title: Beyond the Veil - working title Author: Melisus the Wee (melisus) Genre: supernatural horror Rating: PG 13 for frightening imagery Character(s): Sirius Black and James Potter, with various other character appearances In order to understand this fic and where the idea came from, I must first familiarize you all with my theory on the veil within the Department of Mysteries. If you managed to get past the idea of "oh no, not another beyond the veil fic" and the dreadful working title (I know it's terrible... any suggestions would be much appreciated) then congratulations. I do think you're in for a bit of a treat.
Going back to the veil, it has always been my understanding that the veil is a representative gateway or portal into Death. Beyond that ragged black curtain lurks the souls of the faithfully departed, as evident (to me) by Luna's remark to Harry in OotP. You can hear them whispering to you just beyond the veil. To me this has always presented a problem (regardless of whether or not you believe Sirius to be alive or dead). Beyond the veil is the world of the Dead. But it is my understanding that that realm is not a physical plain; it is a spiritual one, thus presenting a rather interesting situation with Sirius physically entering it.
And so this is where I begin my story. Upon falling through the veil, Sirius' spirit was or has been violently ripped from his body. Now he stands in a strange and hellish Netherworld alone and no more than a whisp of spirit. Now, accompanied by a loyal spirit guide, Sirius must pass throughthe darkest parts of this realm to be reunited with his body and pass back to the land of the Living.
The poet Dante once took us on this journey in his Inferno and now Sirius Black will do the same. Will you accompany him as he makes his way through hell, encountering strange creatures of myth and legend, as well as familiar faces from both his past and his present?
I assure you, it's worth the ride. Disclaimer: The characters appearing in this fic are the sole property of J.K. Rowling. I'm just having a little fun with them right now.

Title: The Mafia's Quest for the Holy Grail (as narrated by Andy Serkis) Author: Melisus the Wee (melisus) Genre: Humor/Parody Rating: PG Notes: This is all purely fiction and done in good fun. What You Need to Know: Billy is referred to as Billeh because we prefer to spell his name how we phonetically pronounce it. Dom is referred to as DOm because there was a member of the SBMB named Dom and we needed to somehow tell the difference between which one we were referring to.

This is just brilliant! Love both the Beatles and Harry Potter, though I also would have switched John and Paul, as Paul is the more ambitious one while John is more the outspoken, bold one. But…
You're actually right. I wrote it with Lupin in mind and I saw it as being an interaction between him and George, but the comment I received about it being Snape also made me reconsider the scene.…
I definitely thought that was young Lupin in George's section...did I read that wrong? Someone else said it was Snape in their comment. I think it makes more sense if it is George and Lupin,…
