Adolescence is a time of rapid development and change. In this developmental period, adolescents have to struggle with a large number of stress factors. In this process resilience is important to have as an adaptive, stress-resistant personal quality. The recent research considers that numerous factors contribute to resilience in adolescents; the internal characteristics associated with resilience include such as self-esteem, self-efficacy, perseverance, internal locus of control, coping and adaptation skills. The purpose of this study is to explore self-esteem and hopelessness as the predictor of resiliency of adolescents. The participants in this study are 223 high school school students (90 females and 133 males). Main instruments are Beck Hopelessness Scale, California Healthy Kids Survey Resilience-Youth Development Module High School Questionnaire and Coopersmith Self-Esteem Scale. The data has been analyzed by regression analysis. The findings showed that self-esteem and hopelessness is a significant predictor of resilience in adolescents. There was a positive relationship between self-esteem and resilience, but there was a negative relationship between hopelessness and resilience. In accordance with the results obtained from this study, there is a correlation between adolescents' self-esteem, hopelessness and resilience levels. Finally, findings warrant further investigation of the interaction effects of self esteem and hopelessness on resilience.

A survey model was used with 499 students between 16 and 18 years of age to investigate associations between perceived social support, self-esteem, trait anger, and anger expression revealed by the Perceived Social Support scale -Revised , the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale Turkish version Cuhadaroglu, 1986), and the Trait Anger and Anger Expression Scale (Spielberger, Jacobs, Russell, & Craine, 1983) translated and adapted by . Pearson product-moment correlation coefficients were determined. There was a significant negative relationship among anger expression and the social support and trait anger perceived from family and teachers, and between self-esteem and trait anger. However, there was no significant relationship between peer support and trait anger, anger-in, anger-out, and anger control; nor was there a significant relationship between self-esteem, anger-in, and anger-out. We also identified a significant positive relationship between self-esteem and anger control, and between self-esteem and the social support received from family and teachers.

The purpose of this study was to explore the degree of empathy, self-efficacy, and resiliency among first grade counseling students. Participants consisted of 132 students enrolled in guidance and psychological counseling programs at three different universities in Turkey. The participants completed the Interpersonal Reactivity Index, Self-Efficacy Scale, Resiliency Scale and Information Sheet. Results show that most of the participants preferred the department of psychological counselling and guidance in the first row in the university entrance exam. Students' career preferences differentiated significantly according to gender.

The purpose of this study is to test a theoretical model concerning the role of self-esteem as a mediator between university students' automatic thoughts and their levels of hopelessness. The participants consisted of 338 students (197 females (58.3%) and 141 males (41.7%) from various departments at the Celal Bayar University. The research data was obtained by utilizing the Automatic Thoughts Scale, the Beck Hopelessness Scale, the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, and a personal information form. In this study, the direct and indirect relationship between the university students' self-esteem and automatic thoughts as well as their levels of hopelessness were tested using structural equation modeling. The proposed structural model, based on the measurement models, was confirmed as a result of the analyses. In addition, the findings show that the fit indices of the model generally met the conditions of acceptance value, and that the t-values pertaining to the relationships among all of the variables were meaningful. Accordingly, automatic thoughts and self-esteem significantly predict the onset of hopelessness, whereas self-esteem does not serve as a mediator between automatic thoughts and hopelessness.

The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between personality traits of parents and parents' reports of adolescent problems. The samples consisted of 389 adolescences whose ages range from 12–15 years old and their parents. Instruments are used Child Behaviour Check List/4–16 and Eysenck Personality Questionnaire in order to analyze the data, correlation analysis were employed. Independent t-test, MANOVA and Pearson correlation coefficient were utilized in analyzing the data collected. As a result of this study, it has been determined that behavioural problems of adolescents reported by their parents significantly vary depending on the gender of such adolescents as well as their parents' education level. Aim of this study is to test the psychometric qualities of the Turkish Form of School Attachment Scale-SAS for children and adolescents. The sample was composed of 708 students, 356 (50,3%) of which were girls and 352 (49,7) of which were boys. Age average of participants was 11.4. The Turkish version of the scale was evaluated for its factor structure, criterion-related validity, Cronbach alpha internal consistency, test re-test, split-half and item-total reliability. Study's results are consistent with the original scale items of the study were placed under three division "attachment to school", "attachment to teacher" and "attachment to friend" to be scaled. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between school attachment and quality of life in children and adolescents attending elementary education. The study is survey model and participants of this research are comprised of 373 students currently attending elementary schools. School Attachment Scale for Children and Adolescents, and Health-Related Quality of Life Questionnaire for Children and Adolescents were used as data collection tool in this research. This study aims to identify environmental perceptions of primary school fourth grade students. The population of this study, which is designed as a descriptive survey model, consists of 97 male and 142 female 239 fourth grade students who are attending public primary schools in Kocaeli Province in the second term of 2018-2019 academic year. Data of research were evaluated by content analysis and descriptive analysis methods. Inter-rater reliability was evaluated by inter-rater reliability formula and Cohen's Kappa Coefficient. According to the findings of the research, inter-rater reliability was high and acceptable in both statistics. Fourth grade students created 45 different and acceptable metaphors about the environment. Bu  çalışmada  ilkokul  üçüncü  sınıf  öğrencilerinin  çevreye  ilişkin  algıları  ve  çözüm  önerilerinin  belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır.  Araştırmanın çalışma  grubunu  2015-2016  eğitim  öğretim  yılı  ikinci  döneminde  Kocaeli  İli Dilovası İlçesi Zeki Obdan İlkokulu, İzmit İlçesi Saraybahçe İlkokulu ve Kandıra İlçesi Akçakoca İlkokulu’nda öğrenim  görmekte  olan  63  öğrenci  oluşturmaktadır.  Araştırma  verileri  araştırmacılar  tarafında  geliştirilen  ve uzman görüşü alınmış 4 yarı yapılandırılmış sorudan oluşan görüşme formu ve her bir öğrencinin yapmış olduğu resimler  kullanılarak  toplanmıştır.  Elde  edilen  veriler  nitel  analiz  yöntemlerinden  betimsel  analiz  ve  içerik analizi  ile  değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırma  sonucunda;  öğrencilerin  çevre  kavramına  daha  çok  “Canlı  Çevre” anlamı  yükledikleri, çoğunluğunun çevre sorunu kavramına “Atıklar” anlamı yükledikleri,  yaşadıkları çevrede çevre  sorunu  olarak  en  çok  “Atıklar”ı  gördükleri,  Çevre  ile  ilgili  sorunları  öncelikli  olarak  Belediye’nin çözebileceğine inandıkları, çevre sorunlarına karşı kendi sorumluluklarında ise en çok “Kirlenmeyi Önleme ve Korumayı” düşündükleri görülmüştür.


In this study, it is aimedto set 3th grades primary school students environmental perceptions and their proposals for the solution. Study group in this research are consist of 63 3th grade primary school students who are attending three primary school in the second term of 2015-2016 academic year in Zeki Obdan Primary School in Dilovası, Saraybahçe  Primary  School  in  İzmit  and  Akçakoca  Primary  School  in  Kandıra,  Kocaeli.  Research  Data developed by researchers the interview forms were collected using a questionnaire form consisting of fouropenended questions and children drawings.  Data  from the qualitative data analysis methods were evaluated by descriptive analysis and content analysis. According to the survey results, the majority of students look on as the environment concept ‘Living environment’ meaning that they install, the majority of students look on as the environmental problem concept "waste" meaning that they install, they live around environmental issues most as "waste"  factorstated,  environment related problems  as  the primary  ‘municipal borough’  can  solve what they believe,  environmental  problems  against  what  their  responsibilities  are  most  ‘contamination  to prevent and conservation’ thought it was detected.

The purpose of this study is to develop a measuring tool so as to determine the attitudes towards environment for primay school fourth grade students. Separate data groups were used for Exploratory Factor Analysis and Confirmatory Factor Analysis at the developing the ‘Attitudes Towards the Environment Scale’. Accordingly, in the Second term of 2018-2019 academic year, Exploratory Factor Analysis was carried out with 167 fourth grade primary school students from Kartepe District and Confirmatory Factor Analysiswas carried out with 325 fourth grade primary school students from Izmit District of Kocaeli Province.In the process of Exploratory Factor Analysis, Kaiser-Mayer-Olkin and Barlett tests were used to check whether data structure was suitable for factor analysis for practice scale. Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin test result was ,877 and Barlett test result was 1623,380 (p<,01) for the Scale. As a result of the Exploratory Factor Analysis, the reliability coefficient of the scale consisting of 3 factors and 15 items was found to be Cronbach’s Alpha ,871 and it was seen that three dimensions of the scale represented %54,99 of total variance. Confirmatory Factor Analysis was carried out in another group for the purpose of examining the validity of the Scale. According to the results of the analysis using Satorra-Bentler Maximum Likelihood Estimation Method, goodness of fit indices of the scale (S-B χ2/sd=2,970; RMSEA= ,039; CFI= ,93; IFI=,94; TLI=,92; MFI=,93) were within acceptable values. Cronbach’s Alpha reliability coefficient of the scale was found ,887 for the entire scale; ,820 for the first factor; ,758 for the second factor; ,716 for the third factor. These findings indicate that the Attitude Towards the Environment Scale’s construct obtained from the Exploratory Factor Analysis has been confirmed with Confirmatory Factor Analysis. In the analysis made in the  student  group  where  the  Confirmatory  Factor  Analysis  was  performed,  it  was  revealed  that female students  had  a  more  positive  attitude  towards  the environment  than  male  students,  and  there  was  no significant diference according to the their ages.

Bu çalışmada Batı Akdeniz Bölgesi'nde yer alan bir ilin merkezindeki devlet okullarında görev yapmakta olan okul yöneticileri ve sendika yöneticilerinin görüşlerine göre 5 Şubat 2021 tarihli Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı (MEB) Yönetici Seçme ve Görevlendirme Yönetmeliğinin çağın gereksinim duyduğu okul yöneticilerini seçme yeterliliğinin değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden olan durum çalışması kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu, amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden maksimum çeşitlilik ve ölçüt örnekleme yöntemleri kullanılarak 24 okul yöneticisi ve 10 sendika yöneticisi olarak belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler içerik analizi yöntemi ile çözümlenmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlar, katılımcıların çağdaş yönetici özellikleri bakımından en fazla etkin iletişim becerileri özelliğini ön plana çıkardıklarını göstermiştir. Ayrıca katılımcıların yarısından fazlası mevcut okul yöneticilerinin çağın gerektirdiği yönetici özelliklerine sahip olmadıklarını ve mevcut yönetmeliğin çağdaş yöneticileri seçebilme yeterliliğinin olmadığını dile getirmişlerdir. Son olarak katılımcılar Yönetmelik'te olması gereken özelliklere ilişkin önerilerini görevlendirmede aranacak şartlar, sınava ilişkin öneriler, seçimin yapılış şekline ilişkin öneriler, yöneticilik mesleğine ilişkin öneriler ve atama sonrasına ilişkin öneriler olmak üzere beş kategori altında ifade etmişlerdir. Bu kategoriler altında ise en fazla mülakat kaldırılmalı, seçimde paydaşların görüşleri dikkate alınmalı ve yazılı sınavın içeriği değiştirilmeli kodlarının ön plana çıktığı bulgusuna ulaşılmıştır.

Bu araştırmada yurt içi ve yurt dışında devlet okullarında görev yapmakta olan öğretmenlerin örgütsel bağlılıkları ve motivasyonları arasındaki ilişki metaanaliz yöntemi ile incelenmiştir. Araştırmada öğretmenlerin motivasyonları ve örgütsel bağlılıkları arasındaki ilişkinin incelendiği birbirinden bağımsız 9 araştırma ile birlikte 2803 kişilik bir örneklem grubu elde edilmiştir. Çalışmaların genel etki büyüklüğünü hesaplamak için örneklemin özelliklerine göre rastgele etkiler modeli tercih edilmiştir. Bunun sonucunda örgütsel bağlılık ve motivasyon değişkenleri arasında güçlü bir ilişkinin olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Heterojenlik testleri soncunda yüksek heterojenlik tespit edilmesinden dolayı yayın yeri, yayın türü, çalışmanın yapıldığı yer ve örneklem değişkenleri üzerinde alt grup analizleri yapılmıştır. Bu analizler sonucunda öğretmenlerin örgütsel bağlılıkları ve motivasyonları arasındaki ilişkide alt gruplara göre istatiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılık tespit edilmemiştir. Bu doğrultuda okul yöneticilerine öğretmenlerin örgütsel bağlılıkları ve motivasyonlarının artırılması için gerekli önlemleri almaları konusunda araştırmacılara ise mevcut araştırma ile ilişkili yapacakları çalışmalarda yardımcı olabileceği düşünülen önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

The aim of this research study is to determine how students define their anxiety about learning mathematics, to determine the symptoms of anxiety and to define how anxiety occurs. The phenomenology research design was used in the study. A semi-structured interview form was used as a data collection tool in the research. The data were analyzed through the content analysis. The study group of the research consists of four male and four female 8th graders in two public secondary schools in Uluborlu district of Isparta. According to the results, students predominantly defined mathematics anxiety as frightening/scary. Also, students identified the symptoms of mathematics anxiety mostly as the theme of physical/physical symptoms. Students stated that sociological, psychological and philosophical dimensions were effective in the emergence of mathematical anxiety.
