WAIS, 770, Buchtel/Nelsonville, OH now running modern c&w, IDs as “WAIS, Buchtel, WSEO, Nelsonville. WSEO (107.7) has long been modern country. both were being operated by Tom Williams and his wife for Nelsonville TV/Cable (the Edwards family, the station’s founders) and running contemporary Christian music most of the day except for the 9-10:30 A.M. block which was local talk & tradio. Tom did mornings on the FM, his wife middays. Noted them both on the talk program Monday taking tribute calls from listeners so I wonder if I missed an announcement, possibly that the stations were being sold? Joe Edward died three or four years ago. I wonder how long the simulcast will last and if a new format is coming for the AM.

With the shutdown of CBS News Radio today, Audacy has announced it will switch many of its News and News/Talk stations to ABC News.

The transition began on Thursday with 780 WBBM/105.9 WCFS Chicago and 830 WCCO Minneapolis beginning to cary ABC News at the top and bottom of the hour. Others such as KNX Los Angeles, KCBS San Francisco and KMBZ-FM Kansas City will begin today or on Saturday once CBS News runs its final newscast at 11:30pm eastern time tonight.

In an announcement, Audacy said, “The addition of ABC News Audio ensures listeners across the country continue to receive trusted national and international news coverage, while our stations continue to deliver best-in-class local journalism in every market we serve. Existing ABC News Audio affiliates will continue their longstanding relationships with ABC News Audio as part of this expanded collaboration.”

Radio Insight (2026-05-23)

Civic Media has moved another of its Liberal Talk stations across Wisconsin away from the format as 1450 WRCE/107.7 W299CD Richland Center has flipped to Oldies.

Positioning as “Local News and Timeless Hits” like the rest of the company’s Oldies stations, the station will feature music from the 1960s and 70s. From 6-9am the station will simulcast features from sister Country 100.9 WRCO including “The Hank & Phil Roundup” and “News From The Center”. The station will also carry Old Time Radio “When Radio Was” weekdays at 9am along with Milwaukee Brewers baseball and University of Wisconsin sports.

Civic Media has moved several of its Talk properties in its smaller Wisconsin markets to Oldies in recent months including Conservative Talk WMPL Hancock MI, and Liberal Talkers WFHR Wisconsin Rapids and WGBW Green Bay.
