Call for Travel Support Grants

Announcement

The MedCLIVAR2026 Conference is offering a very limited number of registration fee waivers and travel support grants (up to €500) to support outstanding participants in attending and presenting their work.

 

Eligibility

All applicants must:

  • Have submitted an abstract for the MedCLIVAR2026 Conference.
  • Plan to participate actively and present their work.
  • Submit a complete application including: (1) a brief statement of purpose (maximum 300 words), (2) a brief description of how attendance will benefit their research/career, and (3) a two-page CV.

 

Priority Consideration

Priority will be given to:

  • Early-career researchers (PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, etc.)
  • Participants from low- or middle-income countries (as defined by the World Bank classification).

 

Award Details

  • Registration Fee Waiver: Full or partial exemption from the conference registration fees.

and/or

  • Travel Support Grant: Up to €500 to cover travel-related expenses (transportation, accommodation), upon justification.

Selection Process

Awards are merit-based, evaluated on the quality of the proposed presentation and the applicant’s potential impact in the field of Mediterranean climate research. The Organising Committee will review applications based on:

  • Scientific quality and relevance of the proposed presentation.
  • Applicant’s career stage and potential for future contributions.
  • Geographic representation and diversity.
  • Need for financial support.

 

Decisions will be announced by July 10. Awardees will be notified via email and must confirm their participation within 14 days.

 

Important Notes

  • Awardees must present their work at the conference. Failure to present will result in the revocation of the award.
  • Travel grants are provided as reimbursement upon submission of valid receipts/invoices/boarding passes.
  • The number of awards is limited and determined by available funding.
