Obidiah and More Halflings

Here's the latest batch.

Obidiah and five more 80's halflings.

Plenty (perhaps too many) photos this time around. I'll post one or two of each figure with some notes and then pile on all of the others at the end for those of you who may wish to see more.

This one, obviously, is Obidiah Hogswill. I am very pleased with the way he turned out.

More photos from many different angles below but I'll put this one here:

What's in his hat and why does he keep speaking to it?

It's meant to be a stolen miniature that he believes is his "Muvver". Sadly with my skills it looks like he just may have been sick!

This chap hasn't a name. Clearly he is in desperate circumstances as no halfling would willing waste a pie by throwing it unless he had no other options.

This one stated out as "The Major" a retired military type who has become a power in local village circles. As you will see when it came to his shield I went off the rails though and now I have no idea who or what he is.

Not very military that is for certain. Perhaps he served in the colonies?

This is Larry.

Here he is with his brother Daryl and his other brother Daryl.

Daryl painted a "D" on his shield so he could quickly tell it part from his brother's.

Larry and the Daryls make their home in the woods on the outskirts of the village.

They eek out  meager existence through trapping.

Just what they trap is open to discussion in village circles and no proper halfling will share their table.

That's it for now.

Here are the rest of the photos:

Old School Halfling Hero and Gerard the Lion Hunter

Finished a few more figures today.

First up is a Halfling Hero. Makes a big to do about how he slew a Gorgon...I mean its not like he just found the head in the grasp of a dead adventurer or anything.

I don't have a name of him yet but he is the protector of the Gorgon Halflings. These unfortunates are the Otterman Empire's main source of captives to fill the ranks of the Mamelukes so they are indeed in great need of protection.

Will this chap be up to the task?

Here are all four figures. Gerard mounted and foot, the Hero and his sidekick.

Gerard mounted. This figure is an Elf from Alternative Armies Witchlands line. In this case I simple repainted the rider to match Gerard on foot. The horse, saddlery, and basing are all from Alternative Armies' studio.

Another shot of the Hero. He started life as a Citadel halfling from the 80's, recently recovered from the basement, converted and painted.

The sidekick is another Citadel great from the 80's. I'm so glad that I bought these back in the day and that I never got around to painting them back then!

The Hero again. The grisly trophy is from the Reaper Perseus figure, clipped at the wrist and pinned in place.

Mounted Gerard.

Foot Gerard started life as an Alternative Armies Elf assassin, armed with a crossbow. The double barreled rifle comes from Alternative Armies' as well. It's really a shot gun for their Frontear game.

The real Gerard was a Spahi officer who made a name for himself in the mid 1800's by ridding villages of predatory lions in the Atlas mountains.

Gerard's Valonian counterpart will eventually be backed up a full unit of Otterman Gnoll Riders in the same colours.

Another shot of our hero. Found it difficult to take photos of so small a figure so apologies for image quality.

Sidekick from another angle.

Front view of the sidekick.

A final shot of the hero in all his glory. Apparently having a Gorgon head in your possession is a great way to get free drinks  and dances with all the prettiest Halfling lasses.

Hope you enjoyed the photos and thanks for stopping by!

Muvver ! Never Thought You'd See It Did You?

Muvver!
This is a conversion I had planned to do at the start of the Summer. Unfortunately I didn't get the chance until today.

In Flintloque's world of Valon, everyone's favorite psychopathic Sergeant with the mother fixation, Obidiah Hogswill, has risen to the self-proclamied rank of General of a band of deserters of all Nations.

However, I always wanted to field him as he was when Sharke knew him, simply as Sgt. Hogswill.

And as everyone who is ANYONE knows, Sgt, Obidiah Hogswill, can be frequently seen talking to a picture of his beloved "Muvver", tucked into the top of his shako. Well, its not really a picture of his mother but he thinks it is and that Dear Rearder, is the important thing, or as he would say "fing".

Gavin at Alternative Armies was kind enough to gift me the required pieces, unpainted versions of the two painted figures in the photos.

One is a simple Rifleorc, reloading his piece, The other is unmistakably General Hogswill.

I took the head off the Rifleorc and hollowed out the shako. Clipped his rifle and re-positioned his  left hand. Fortunately I had a Flintloque Sgt.'s halberd, again gifted but some years ago now to give Obidiah his badge of rank.

Hopefully I will be able to give him an appropriately wild eyed look when it comes painting time. The features are all there, wild eyes and all so it shouldn't be too difficult.

The two painted figures BTW were painted by the Alternative Army staff painters. Once again I highly recommend their services!

Thanks for stopping by!
