Brennan & Amanda met at the University of Saskatchewan while attending the College of Agriculture. Brennan proceeded to work in sales for Bayer out of the Watrous area from 2008-2019 while also working on the family farm with his first crop planted in 2004. Amanda has worked in the ag industry since 2007 with various sales organizations and currently works for Life Scientific Inc. as the Canadian Country Manager. They moved back to Watrous in 2014 where they laid down their roots and started a family with their son Axel and daughter Blakely. Brennan & Amanda share a passion for the farm and agriculture which they hope their children will carry into the next generation.
Spencer and Alanna moved back to the farm in the spring of 2021 and welcomed their first child, Isla, to the family soon after. Spencer spent 8 years working in retail agriculture as an agrologist and location manager before moving back to the farm, and holds designations as a Professional Agrologist and Certified Crop Advisor. Alanna works as a Registered Dietitian and has worked with many communities across the province with an emphasis on diabetes management and food security. Their career interests overlap when it comes to food production and the path food takes from the field to the table. Spencer and Alanna are excited to call Watrous home and enjoy spending time outside at the farm!
Kendall and Deanna met in 2012 as neighbours while they were both living in Saskatoon. At the time, Deanna was working hard as a Dental Assistant after relocating from her home town of North Battleford and Kendall was attending his first year at the college of agriculture at the U of S. In the ensuing years, Kendall moved on from college into a role with Nutrien and Deanna went back to school to earn a degree in Social Work. They moved onto the McArthur Treelane farm in 2020 where they have laid down their family roots with their daughter Reiley and their dogs. Kendall is very proud of how well Deanna adapted to farm life, mastering the arts of gardening, hunting and farm meals.
Away from the farm, the two of them have enjoyed most of their time snowmobiling, fishing, snowboarding, and biking.
John and Glenda were married in 1980 and moved onto the farm site originally owned by John’s parents. They resided there until 2021, at which time they moved to Manitou Beach. Glenda came to town as a young, single, school teacher, and soon was introduced to John, a young, single, farmer, and hence the relationship began. Glenda retired from teaching in 2010 after 33 years of teaching, and continues to work at the Elementary School on a part-time basis. John has remained as an integral partner on the farm with his three sons. He has seen remarkable changes over the years since he began farming in 1970, but continues to challenge himself in the day-to-day operations of the farm. John and Glenda have been actively involved in their community, serving on many executives and committees. Their hope is to have McArthur Ag continue on with the generations to follow.
