hello, just also wanted to introduce myself, first post in this community. I'm a senior studying mathematics. I think complex analysis is the most amazing concept in mathematics that i so far encountered (just amazing how so many piece fit together and the diff. between real and complex). I'm greatly interested in philosophy also, especially in the philosophy of mathematics. My basic conception of mathematics is that it is essentially the study of space and number (like think of the progression of mathematics) and one can be used to study the other. Space and number are two abstract concepts (number in frege's sense "a plurality of a plurality of a plurality and space depending on what ruels you accept) and their development set upon the basis of pre established rules (these pre established rules however although arbitrary in a sense will always yield relative consistency). to me math really isn't an art but more like a book. One is writing down concepts about space and number. my question is, if you choose to waste time/spend time and answer is what do you think math is the study of?and as such how does it relate yo your conception of mathematics in general. any response would be appreciated
