IsoHemp manufactures non-loadbearing hemp blocks designed for the construction of insulating and breathable building envelopes, internal partitions and lining walls. The blocks are intended for both new-build and renovation projects and are used in residential, collective and tertiary buildings. They are installed as bonded masonry units and are suitable for applications including external wall construction, internal insulation and space division.
The hemp blocks are developed to support low-energy, very low-energy and passive building standards. The product range includes various thicknesses, as well as blocks with tongue-and-groove connections and technical elements such as U-shaped blocks and prefabricated lintels. The system is certified and complies with relevant European standards.
IsoHemp blocks provide thermal performance through a declared thermal conductivity of 0.071 W/mK and can achieve a thermal resistance of up to 5.37 m²K/W for 360 mm blocks. A thermal phase shift of up to 23.6 hours contributes to reducing the impact of external temperature fluctuations. In addition to thermal performance, the material offers moisture regulation, acoustic insulation and fire resistance. The blocks are lightweight and installed using a thin-layer adhesive mortar with joints of approximately 3 mm.
For interior finishes, natural plasters such as lime, clay or IsoHemp’s proprietary plaster systems can be applied directly to the surface. Externally, mineral renders and various façade cladding systems are compatible, and a secondary masonry façade can be mechanically fixed where required.
IsoHemp hemp blocks are used in a range of projects across Belgium, France and other European countries, including housing, public buildings and heritage renovations.
