Ok, first off, I have to say, I really have NO IDEA what I am doing with this. Hopefully I can actually post and not screw this up. ;)
Hi readers, My name is Cheri Rocha and I have recently opened an online business at www.yourcollegeteamstore.com. I am specializing in NCAA College teams in the C-USA, MAC, WAC, Mountain West, and SunBelt Divisions.
My husband was actually the inspiration for this store. He is an alumni of a C-USA school and was just tired of not being able to find merchandise for his school. You could always find stuff for the "Big Schools", or what would be considered the "popular" ones. So we started doing research and found that there are manufacturers that do make this stuff, but not many who will carry or sell it. So that is where Your College Team Store originated.
We are the typical family of 4, with 2 dogs, and a cat. Both our children are school aged and they really do eat up alot of our free time with all their sports and school activites, but we wanted to find something that we could do to help other "Division 1 School Alumni" or (current students) find the items that they want, without having to search and search for someone who makes or sells it.
As I said before, we just JUST OPENED...but, I am adding new items to every school in the C-USA, MAC, WAC, Mountain West, and SunBelt Divisions as I am able to find them. I will try and add new items as often and possible, and post on here what is new, and any promtions that we have that day/week.

I just wanted to congradualate the graduating Class of 2007. You have made your families, teachers and us alumni very poroud of you.
In the 10 years since my graduation, I learned a few things:
1. Stay positive. For this gets you threw your salad days.
2. Take risks. A small risk can quickly become a big opportunity.
3. Set goals and make plans to reach them, but be open to change and situations that can flip everything around.
I hope yyou enjoy this new part of your lives in which you leave MU for new challenges and opportunities.

Anyone who is looking to establish Ohio residency for graduate or medical school (or just looking to pay less in rent in exchange for living 5 minutes further from Huntington) needs to call me! I am looking for a roommate to live with me in Ohio, likely in Proctorville or Chesapeake! The average cost for a 2 bedroom townhouse seems to be around $500, which is what I pay for my 2 bedroom 30x30 apartment the size of a Cracker Jack box. I've seen Ohio 2 bdrms going for as low as $350, which is a deal, considering the cost of Huntington rent.
Just to note, for most Ohio universities, to establish residency there, you have to live in the state a year before you'll start classes, have an Ohio driver's lisence, register your car in Ohio, and prove that you make enough money at a job to support yourself. It's a tiny bit inconvienent now, but will save lots of $$$$$ in the long run.

hey all! My roommate and I are trying to find someone to sub-lease our apartment from mid-may to the end of july. We're both moving somewhere else (not together) and do not need to be wasting our money here over the summer, but can't get out of our lease without sub-leasing. The apartment is a 2 bedroom 1 bath apartment located on Buffington Ave. in the Buffington Arms Apartment building (#12) owned by Big Green. The rent is $575 a month, which breaks down to $287.50 each for 2 people. The utilities aren't that bad, you'd have to pay water, electricity, and for cable if you want it. It is unfurnished but comes with a small table and 2 chairs. If you and a roommate sublease in May, my roommate will throw in her couch for free! You would start paying rent in June, but would have to pay a security deposit of the same amount that rent is to my roommate and I, and you would then receive our security deposit that we originally paid when you move out. If you're looking to stay in Huntington over the summer and then live here for the upcoming school year this is a perfect time to catch a good apartment! For months, I been been trying to find out when this film will be out on dvd with no avail.
According to every video store here that I talked to, there is no release information. One Hollywood video store associate said because it is considered a limited release film, it could be released to dvd at anytime.
Anyway, I was wondering if any of you cureent Herders have learned anything through the campus grapevine and/or local press?

Just a random bit of trivia, but according to Engadget.com, Marshall University ranks 25th for the number of piracy infringement notices handed out during the 2006 - 2007 academic year.
Other "local" colleges of note include Ohio University (1st), UT at Knoxville (4th), U of South Carolina (5th), NC State (9th), and Western Kentucky (22nd). Notice WVU didn't make the list...
Just a reminded to all my fellow music-lovers in Huntington to watch what you're doing...

FYI: Jonathan Bruce Goddard is a defensive end for the Colts this year. He is on the injured reserve list for SB XLI.
While at MU, he was a "Four-year letterman who started 32 of 49 career games…was Football Writers Association’s All-America first-team selection and Mid-American Conference Player-of-the-Year as senior …led nation with 16 sacks and 28.5 tackles for losses…had career-high 82 tackles, 44 solo, three FR, five FF, one interception and five pass defensed…started 12 games as junior and recorded 68 tackles, 43 solo, 6.5 sacks, three FF and had two FR for touchdowns…also led team with 20.5 tackles for losses…started 12 games as sophomore…had 68 tackles, 38 solo, three sacks, 14.5 tackles for losses, 10 pass defensed and two FF…played in 11 games and had 21 tackles, 10 solo, and two sacks as freshman." About 10 minutes ago I happened to see the first showing of the We Are Marshall (2006) preview for tv.
It was on during the 2006 World Series-Game 1. It was about 20 seconds long, and gave the smallest of idea about what the film is about.
I know it would cost too much to show the preview on Yahoo on tv, but they need to run a more emotional preview. This one just looked like another preview for another football film.
Anyway, I cannot wait to see it.

For the past couple of years, I've complained about Marshall fans. Crowds at MU games, be it volleyball, football, or swimming & diving, seem rather... well, apathetic. The crowds are never as big and overwhelming as the crowds at away games, and its sad. I'd really like to see huge, ridiculous crowds of green and white at every game SCREAMING their heads off and getting really excited about every play. I'm sure the athletes would appreciate it, too. The Marshall Maniacs are trying to get it together, but the rest of the University needs to get on it!
On a positive note, the crowd at the Volleyball game today really impressed me. Ok, I understand that the university had to promise free t-shirts and CSTV to get anybody in the stands... but it was something. These games would be a lot more fun if the stands were always full. What happened to that WE ARE... MARSHALL pride? ;-)
