pilhadora. Essa troca de colônia é denominada desorientação,
do termo em inglês drifting. Na prática, é o ato das abelhas
entrarem sem intenção em outras colônias.

Africanized “Apis mellifera” were evaluated in this study. For this purpose, newly emerged workers were divided into 25 cages
with an average population of 150 bees. A diet containing feed with different concentrations of GA3, water and sucrose
solution was fed for seven days. There was a reduction in feed intake, combined with epithelial damage in the midgut,
morphological changes in the enocytes and changes in the stages of the pericardial cells. However, this behavior did not
follow a regular response when added higher concentrations of GA3 in the feed, denoting a possible detoxification capacity
of this compound, depending on the concentration used. The results suggest that regardless of the concentration, this
compound can cause cell damage in the intestine and fat body, in addition to reducing vitellogenin (VG) gene expression
levels.

In northeastern Brazil, this situation can last up to eight months. In the absence of food in the wild, there is a need for additional food for the colonies to avoid population reduction and abandonment by migrating honey bees in search of a better food niche. Food supplementation in certified organic beekeeping requires natural and non-GM foods. Storing and using surplus pollen and honey can be a supplemental alternative to the shortage period. This work quantified the pollen that could be collected during flowering and used this pollen in supplementary feedings (sugar + honey + pollen) as an alternative for maintaining beekeeping.

For the control of temperature and humidity the water is collected by the workers as needed. When the nest is above ideal temperature, the bees cool by sprinkling water droplets on the combs, which evaporate, reduce the temperature and increase the internal moisture content of the hive (Free, 1980). This control seeks to reduce the temperature of the hive and also prevent the drying of the hatchlings. The objective of this work was to investigate the relationship between temperature and air humidity variation, inside and outside the beehive of Africanized bees, with the development and mortality of the brood of workers during the hot and dry period in a transition area between forests of caatinga, caatinga and northeastern Brazilian cerrado.
