I feel like I'm missing a significant fannish cultural event in not reading cesperanza 's Written By the Victors immediately. I love her work, and the world she's built looks amazing, but I'm just not in a very John/Rodney (SGA) place right now. Instead I'm just in a shallow place of wanting to watch Patrick noodle on his guitar while he grins adorably at Pete.
Ah, well. It'll still be waiting for me once I'm ready to jump in and be absorbed. And I'll get to follow it immediately by all the fanworks the story has inspired.
1) Viacesperanza : There's now a view of the Joe/David Comic-Con picture FROM THE BACK!!! (Also, click that link for hair!slash comment fic. No, really. This is what SGA fandom is FOR. Oh, and follow that link, too, for a larger version of the photo.) Now if we can only get the photo from the dark-haired woman's camera to the left of Joe, we'll have 360 degrees of Joe/David love.
2) David Hewlett appears to be newly infatuated with Colin Ferguson and the rest of the Eureka cast, making all those SGA/Eureka crossover stories that much more delicious for some reason.
3) I love that Adrian looks like he's having sex with the camera even when nobody else really seems to know it's there.
4) When I moved, I accidentally got HBO on my new cable package. I'll call them and change it soon since I'm paying for it and hadn't planned to. But in the meantime, I've totally been hooked by Entourage. Because...OMG, ARI!!!!!! JEREMY PIVEN IS LOVE!!!! ( Piven loveCollapse )
wynterwolf47 was very patient with me running around San Diego and exclaiming ARI!! at random intervals for no good reason whatsoever.
Things making me crabby today: 1) People. I'm not dealing well with people today, and my users are all being unusually dense. (What do you mean, 'That's not nice,'?? They don't know I think that! It's just taking me a lot more effort than usual to be patient with people today.)
2) I miss being at Comic-Con, surrounded by fangeeks like me. I'm not "out" as a fangirl at work, so I don't even get to flail at people. Well, I mean, I wouldn't, much, because they don't care about anything fun. But I miss knowing that the person next to me is probably as obsessive as I am about one story or another. Well, I do have one quasi-fannish friend here, but we don't actually have any official work contact. Her response when I told her in an email that I'd seen Ben Browder on the SG-1 panel, though, was a fangirl-appropriate, "YOU DIDN'T !!! OH MY GOD. We have to meet for lunch." So she's my one bit of respite in a non-fannish world.
I'd never really considered attending Comic-Con before, but this year wynterwolf47 invited me to tag along with her and stay in her hotel. I jumped on her generosity, so here I am!
I thoroughly enjoye watching this film growing up. I love the jets and of course the dudes. But looking at it again now; it is so undercover/overcover gay LOL still love it. ;)
