This week: shout out to our partner Let Us!

With a great expertise in food and sustainability, Katrien Verbeke connects different partners and organisations to create innovative (and sustainable) solutions for challenges of all kind related to food systems, with the co-creation method as a building block. Let Us is also a game changer for local and international food policies by combining participatory strategies like in-depth interactions and peer-to-peer learning, stakeholder events, focus groups, and many more. Thanks to Let Us, the innovations will always have a focus on effectiveness and impact, whereas implementations are done in a tailor-made way. Here are some examples from the wide range of projects: in the SchoolFood4Change project, Let Us collaborates with partners and schools in a ‘whole school food approach’ to stimulate participation with local farmers and engage them in education on healthy food choices.  Also, related to our pilot study of monitoring lunchboxes at primary schools, the initiative of Brood(doos)nodig initiated by both Let Us and Enchanté (https://enchantevzw.be/)  also tries to tackle hunger in schools by the set-up of a large crowdfunding that supports schools to organise supportive actions. As an important pioneer in the fight against food waste, Let Us also coaches and involves the right partners in the Get Wasted project. Through the use of an online marketplace still perfectly usable and fresh surpluses can easily be returned to the sales market and not go to waste!
