Background and Objective. With an aim of developing an effective disease monitoring and surveillance of dengue fever, this study intends to analyze the spatial distribution of dengue incidences in the National Capital Region (NCR), across four years of reported dengue cases. Materials and Methods. Data used was provided by the Department of Health (DOH) consisting of all reported dengue cases in NCR from 2010-2013. For mapping and visualization, a shapefile of NCR was made readily available by www.philgis.org. Both Moran’s I and Kulldorff’s spatial scan statistics (SaTScan) were used to identify clusters across the same time period. Results and Conclusion. The analyses identified significant clustering of dengue incidence and revealed that the northern cities of NCR, such as Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas and Valenzuela, exhibited high spatial autocorrelation using local Moran’s I and Kulldorff’s SaTScan. Teachers have lots of responsibilities inside and outside the school grounds. They are instruments in shaping up the students' minds and helping them to become what they want to be in the future. Thus, to be effective, teachers should be flexible. Being adaptive and prepared at all times will allow them to teach students who have different learning styles in various capacities. 21 st century learners are known to be demanding and sociable. They are also known to be digital learners or technically-inclined. Furthermore, students nowadays learn more by doing.

This study aimed to know the dominant and least used language learning strategies of Grade-10 public school students. Respectively, this study intended to answer the following research questions: (1) How may the language learning strategies of the respondents be described in terms of listening, vocabulary, speaking, reading, writing strategies;(2) What is/are the dominant language learning strategies of the respondents; and (3) What is/are the least used language learning strategies of the respondents. A quantitative type of research was applied in this study. The 70-item survey type of questionnaire was used to accumulate the data for the purpose of knowing the language learning strategies of Grade-10 students from a selected public school in Angeles City. The researchers engaged the statistical analyses of data which was done through mean and standard deviation. The 70-item accomplished questionnaire was answered by: Often, Sometimes and Never. In general, the dominant language learning strategies used by the Grade-10 students were the listening and reading language learning strategies; and the least used learning strategies were identified as the speaking, writing and vocabulary strategies. In general, the respondents have used all the language learning strategies in order to enhance their language competencies. A significant discovery on the students’ language learnings strategies were shown. It is hoped that the results of this research will assist Grade-10 English learners, English teachers, administrators and future researchers to enhance and to explore the language learning strategies of the students.
