oh politics and religion
Herman Cain, Michele Bachmann dodge Mormon question
As of now, I don't have anyone I support for the next presidential campaign, but I'd like to address something quickly for anyone who reads then news. "Mormonism" is not a cult. They are Christians. The name of the church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, not 'The Mormon Church'. If they weren't Christians, why put Christ's name in the name of the church? Next, they do not practice polygamy. The people you see doing that are part of sects that broke off from the main church like 100 years ago. Don't confuse the two, no matter what "Big Love" might have to say.
I'm not for Mitt Romney, I'm not against him. But I think we should look at his political views and not his religious ones. And even if we do look at his religious views, let's look at the religious views of our previous presidents. Have they served us well under the flag of whatever faith they promoted for the good of their campaign? Does it matter? Should it matter? Truthfully I think too many candidates will tell the public what they want to hear to win the vote.
Anyway, that's my two cents, and also my little piece of informing those around me. Ugh. Nothing is more annoying than people who spout things off like it's truth when it isn't. It's embarrassing.
