‘Die!Die!Die!’ Volume 2 & ‘A Basketful Of Heads’

It’s kind of nice to get to Thursday and realise that no matter how hectic this week has been so far, I’ve still managed to get a decent bit of reading under my belt and write about it here. And I’ve noticed a little pattern to my weekly posts; which often start off with a full length book (or two) before moving on to comic books and finally short stories. That’s a pretty big clue as to how my energy levels progress over a week ;o) Well, I changed the order slightly this week and that’s what happens when my day in the office gets brought forward a couple of days. It wouldn’t feel the same, here, without a comic book post though so… Lets take a quick look at a couple that I’ve had on the go… ‘Die!Die!Die!’ Volume 1 – Kirkman, Gimple, Burnham, Fairbairn (Image Comics) Page Count: 128 Pages We don't like to admit it, but this is an evil world where evil people do evil stuff all the time.   Page Count: 176 Pages Going to sleep late, and waking up early isn’t a great combination but that’s the way my body clock rolls and so I had a little extra time on my hands, yesterday morning. I’d rather have been asleep but here we are, hopefully today will be a quiet one. Anyway… That ‘little bit of extra time’ went on my reading the first volume of ‘Die!Die!Die!’, a book I’d picked up not so long ago but not managed to read, until it caught my eye yesterday morning ;o) We don't like to admit it, but this is an evil world where evil people do evil stuff all the time. Thankfully, there is a secret cabal with the United States government that works outside our normal system to influence world matters through targeted assassination. The world around us is manipulated right under our noses, mostly for the better... sometimes for individual gain. So if you're hurting people, somehow making the world worse than it already is, or even just standing in the way of something good hap...

‘The Raid 2’ (2014)

Image
Well, the plan was to watch some Doctor Who last night but my DVD player developed a dislike to the two DVDs that I tried in it, and time was ticking away, so I thought I’d give something else a go instead. I’d thoroughly enjoyed ‘The Raid’, when I watched it back in May , and had been meaning to get acquainted with ‘The Raid 2’ ever since but never quite managed it… Until last night when I saw it in the DVD pile and thought to myself, ‘why not…?’ So when my pizza arrived, that’s exactly what I did 😊 Having fought his way out of a building full of gangsters and madmen, Rama thought he could resume a normal life. He couldn’t have been more wrong. His triumph attracted the attention of the criminal underworld, and with his family at risk, Rama’s only choice is to go undercover and begin a new terrifying odyssey of violence. ‘The Raid 2’ is one of those movies that’s lucky enough not to have to try very hard as it’s predecessor was so good that… Well, all it really needs to do is...
