The VirtualMIDISynth plays the MIDI notes and responds to instrument program changes. While playing, BIAB also reads the name of the chord in each bar in the chord sheet. It then sends the MIDI notes which define the chord (ex.. C major would send the notes C, E and G - sustained) to the VoiceLive 3 on an unused MIDI channel thru a USB or MIDI cable. The VoiceLive3 uses this MIDI chord info to intelligently harmonize vocals in real-time.

Yes, the software is capable of routing streams through ports, but you will have to make sure that those applications you use support forwarding through MIDI ports. Additionally, loopMIDI needs to run for as long as you are routing the stream. Once it's close, you will have to repeat the process. Unfortunately, there isn't much information about the software and the way it works except the description from the official website.

Is loop midi compatible with mac operating systems, I run Reasons 10 on the mac.
No, loopMIDI is only compatible with Windows and does not support Mac operating systems.
